"We liked the Main Street, with the little shops and cafes. Lovely atmosphere. We envied the local residents who live on this beautiful island…..very calm and peaceful and safe. The cafes were affordable and the helpings were generous.
We enjoyed the bush walk to the sand bar, and we enjoyed swimming at two popular spots.
It is easy to get around Dhigurah as we love walking, but tuktuks would have been easy to use if we had needed one.
The island is mostly clean, and the homes are well tended, some with pretty gardens."

"Dhangethi is a great local island, approx 1.5hours speedboat ride from the airport. Be advised that there are restrictions for tourists clothing requirements and a mosque with early morning calls for prayer and the locals are friendly. We loved the culture, but it is not for everyone. There are a couple of great restaurants, Compass and Blue Moon. We mostly spent our time at Compass as they really looked after us! Food is great at both and sitting out on the beach or deck having your meal is one of life's great pleasures! Bikini beach is good, a little bit of a reef to snorkel around, but best to take tours from Dhangethi to see some amazing marine life."

"We enjoyed 7 days on the island. The rooms are very clean. The food is AMAZING! Everyone from staff are kind. The resort is sustainable, they try very hard to recycle and repurpose almost everything which is really nice. All inclusive is the smarter choice, trust me😄
The snorkeling is really fun! The whole island stands on coral reef and there is a lot to see! Maybe bring your own equipment, although you can rent. I don’t recommend the visit to the local island, nothing to see there

Everyone was happy to chat and always helpful. It’s a new hotel and it is modern and very clean. Everyone takes pride in giving guests a great welcome. They arranged for us to hire a scooter to get a better look around the island. They also arranged the speedboat transfers and collected and dropped our bags at the jetty.

And the island itself has one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in the Maldives. There's a small reef with turtles, showers, swings, big umbrellas, and fresh juice vendors. The hotel also owns a few parrots that are extremely cuddly and cute.

This was my fifth trip to the Maldives, and I’ve always had wonderful things to say about every resort I’ve visited but Kandolhu has completely redefined my idea of the perfect Maldivian escape.
First, the staff. Every single person we encountered was exceptional. The level of attentiveness and attention to detail was unlike anything we’ve experienced before. We genuinely felt cared for throughout our stay. A special thank you to Mafaaz for helping us plan our activities for the week, Roman, Elvie, and Skye for making every meal memorable, Sylvia for her phenomenal cocktails, and of course the chefs, who completely ruined my diet in the best possible way.
As for the resort itself, it's absolutely stunning. Kandolhu feels like a tiny slice of paradise, and tiny is exactly what makes it so special. With only 30 villas, the island feels intimate, peaceful, and incredibly exclusive. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. I actually audibly gasped when I first walked into our water villa.
And then there’s the house reef, truly the crown jewel of Kandolhu. We snorkeled multiple times a day and saw something new every single time. I’ve never seen such vibrant, diverse coral so full of life. Turtles, sharks, rays, eels, octopus, and endless schools of fish. It felt like swimming in an aquarium. I honestly don’t think you could ever get bored exploring it.
All in all, Kandolhu is a small but majestic paradise, and without question my new favorite resort in the Maldives. I already can’t wait to return.

My stay at Nika Resort Maldives was nothing short of magical! From the moment I arrived, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking beauty of the island—crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and lush greenery created a true tropical paradise.
I stayed in a stunning beach villa that offered complete privacy and direct access to the ocean. The design was elegant, blending Maldivian charm with modern comforts. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and enjoying sunset views from my private deck was pure bliss!
The staff at Nika Resort went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine smiles made me feel like a VIP. Special thanks to Carolina, Elena, Ahmed and for their outstanding service!
The food was exquisite—fresh seafood, delicious international cuisine, and beautifully presented dishes. The beachfront dining under the stars was a highlight, and the chefs accommodated dietary requests with a smile. Special thanks to the bartender, Amid.
Nika Resort is a hidden gem in the Maldives, offering luxury, tranquility, and authentic island charm. I left feeling completely refreshed and already dream of returning. Highly recommended for honeymooners, couples, or anyone seeking a slice of heaven!

This was our second time visiting Veligandu, and it still exceeded all of our expectations!! The resort is relaxing, quiet, and luxurious!! We love walking through the lush garden pathways leading to the restaurant . The house reef has a huge variety of reef fish as well as turtles, reef sharks, and rays. Snorkelling was very relaxing!
We stayed in the sunrise water Villa this time and this suits us best as we could then sit on the back deck over the water in the shade in the afternoon. The sunrises were beautiful!
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you to our host Shaalee for looking after us so well and accommodating all of our requests.
Dhonveli Restaurant has a fantastic buffet selection catering for dietary needs and various cuisine. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable. Thank you to chef Suresh for cooking me the perfect eggs every morning!

This is a fantastic place, to relax, swim and snorkel. The beaches are gorgeous, the staff extremely helpful and friendly, and the food very good. I would not hesitate to visit again. It is like being in paradise.
Beginning from the friendly welcome at the sea-plane dock, the delicious welcome drink, being shown to our cabin and the facilities, the friendly and helpful host at the restaurants and finally accommodating our request for the departure exceeded what one expects at the most exclusive and elite resorts.

The food in all restaurants and eating areas was very good. No complaints.
The staff was excellent. Our hosts - Marlen and Zatil - were amaizing. They made our stay unforgettable.

Dhigurah is a nice local island.
Dhigurah is a nice local island. There are many good restaurants and small supermarkets. Outside of the village there are many public (bikini) beaches and there's a beautiful path to the sandbank that runs along the jungle. We highly tecommend renting a scooter for more flexibility.

Thoddoo is a very interesting Island.
Thoddoo is a very interesting Island. It has very green, lush vegetation and seems to produce fruit and vegetables for the rest of the country. The beaches are simply amazing. Endless white, sandy coral beachfront surrounded by coconut palms and much vegetation. The water is a stunning turquoise with fantastic visibility making snorkeling an absolute treat. Here you can see many, many sea turtles close up and only metres from the beach. A great variety of fish can also be experienced with ease. The main guest beach has an amazing set up with Many showers, bathrooms, tree swings, hammocks and fruit/ ice cream/ snack stalls. An amazing feature is that they set up a massive row of sunbeds on the waters edge around 5 pm to be able to watch the sunset!! A lovely touch. If you want a more isolated beach, just walk north and you will be blessed with amazing virgin beaches with only coconut palms offering shade and not. a sole in sight. The island is small and can be walked around quite easily. Bikes and scooters are easily available for added speed. The centre has a variety of restaurants and shops within easy reach making t a well organized location to relax and enjoy. As with all the Maldivian Islands, there is a massive spate of construction . You will see a building site on every corner. There seems to be a plethora of new Hotels and guest houses coming. This will spoil the beauty and uniqueness of these gorgeous islands and will put the limited infrastructure to the test. With Thoddoo the good thing is that the construction is around the centre and therefore far from the beautiful beaches. Go soon if you want t o go before its too late!!

Wonderful vacation place, with a layed-back (very!)
Wonderful vacation place, with a layed-back (very!) vibe and a mix of tourists and locals, especially nice if you eat in some of the places where islanders also eat.
Also please be respectful of the locals who adhere to more traditional values, and cover up when not on the beach. No shoes in stores. It was a really fun time.
And the staff at Ukulhas Beach Villas were amazing. It’s a 3 room “hotel” just 75 steps from the water.

You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than...
You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than that would have to be someone who loves water sports as these are the main activities in this country, anyways.
Bring a mosquito or any insect repellent, you will need these after a stroll on the shores or anywhere there are plants.
Also have an anti-nausea pill if you are the seasick type.
Taxis have a fixed price for each location, check that out.
Alcohol in the resorts is expensive but then again that's all you got.
Best to pay all meals or include dinner in your package as there are almost no restaurants outside, depending on the island, and if you find one it's either a chips or coffee spots.

Dhangethi is a great local island, approx 1.5hours speedboat...
Dhangethi is a great local island, approx 1.5hours speedboat ride from the airport. Be advised that there are restrictions for tourists clothing requirements and a mosque with early morning calls for prayer and the locals are friendly. We loved the culture, but it is not for everyone. There are a couple of great restaurants, Compass and Blue Moon. We mostly spent our time at Compass as they really looked after us! Food is great at both and sitting out on the beach or deck having your meal is one of life's great pleasures! Bikini beach is good, a little bit of a reef to snorkel around, but best to take tours from Dhangethi to see some amazing marine life.

It was not my first time in Maldives and my experience there...
It was not my first time in Maldives and my experience there was disappointing compared to my previous trips in other resorts. The quality of service is poor and it’s a shame because the resort is lovely and the staff are nice but lack professionalism.

Mathiveri is a wonderful island with an amazing natural environment and truly kind people.
The island is peaceful, green, and surrounded by a beautiful, clear ocean. The beaches and nature feel untouched and very calming.
What makes Mathiveri special is its people - warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. You feel welcome everywhere, and the atmosphere is sincere and relaxed.
A perfect place to enjoy nature, simplicity, and the true spirit of the Maldives.

We enjoyed 7 days on the island. The rooms are very clean.
We enjoyed 7 days on the island. The rooms are very clean. The food is AMAZING! Everyone from staff are kind. The resort is sustainable, they try very hard to recycle and repurpose almost everything which is really nice. All inclusive is the smarter choice, trust me😄
The snorkeling is really fun! The whole island stands on coral reef and there is a lot to see! Maybe bring your own equipment, although you can rent. I don’t recommend the visit to the local island, nothing to see there

Superb new facility and well connected atoll with great diving spots close by, the diving crew is well experienced and friendly, and they conduct PADI certification courses as well.
All inclusive includes free kayaking for one hour every day (depending on sea conditions), free SUP for one hour every day (depending on sea conditions) and free rental of snorkeling gear for the entire duration of stay. There were several other water sport options like jet sky, dive tours, night snorkeling as well. The active coral reef need a bit of a boat ride to reach but they are filled with fishes. The whale shark viewing was amazing!!
