This was my fifth trip to the Maldives, and I’ve always had wonderful things to say about every resort I’ve visited but Kandolhu has completely redefined my idea of the perfect Maldivian escape. First, the staff. Every single person we encountered was exceptional. The level of attentiveness and attention to detail was unlike anything we’ve experienced before. We genuinely felt cared for throughout our stay. A special thank you to Mafaaz for helping us plan our activities for the week, Roman, Elvie, and Skye for making every meal memorable, Sylvia for her phenomenal cocktails, and of course the chefs, who completely ruined my diet in the best possible way. As for the resort itself, it's absolutely stunning. Kandolhu feels like a tiny slice of paradise, and tiny is exactly what makes it so special. With only 30 villas, the island feels intimate, peaceful, and incredibly exclusive. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. I actually audibly gasped when I first walked into our water villa. And then there’s the house reef, truly the crown jewel of Kandolhu. We snorkeled multiple times a day and saw something new every single time. I’ve never seen such vibrant, diverse coral so full of life. Turtles, sharks, rays, eels, octopus, and endless schools of fish. It felt like swimming in an aquarium. I honestly don’t think you could ever get bored exploring it. All in all, Kandolhu is a small but majestic paradise, and without question my new favorite resort in the Maldives. I already can’t wait to return.

Maalhos is an idyllic location with the most beautiful beaches, snorkelling and friendly locals.

Two breakfast options were available—a continental breakfast and a “local” option. We tried the local option the first morning. It was good, and we continued with the local option for the rest of our stay.

Everything was great. We loved our experience at the island and at the Amjad's guesthouse. Everyone, including children, speaks English, and all the people we met were friendly. I was able to play football with the local kids. Amjad is a great host and gave us a warm reception, showed us around the island and told us the relevant information about it, organised me and my wife a trip to swim with mantas and a coral garden trip with turtles and other sea creatures. Also, he gave us the guide to show snorkeling on the local beach on the third day, which allowed us to learn how to safely navigate the water with the current and see things we wouldn't see on the tourist beach. On one occasion, we didn't have time for lunch and asked Amjad for sandwiches, and his wife prepared us an amazing lunchbox which we shared on a beach. His wife's breakfasts were always a treat; they were restaurant-grade, and we later discovered that most restaurants on the islands were at most at par. Second part of the trip, we went to a bigger island, and the vibe was completely different. We were able to participate in group activities, and there was a variety of restaurants and everything, but the experience was less romantic and personal. Feridhoo was an ideal place for a honeymoon-like experience we never had back in the day, and Amjad's hospitality was a big part of fostering that experience.

Everyone was amazing, kind and helpful, from the housekeeping to the manager, chef and the waiting staff! The beach and the restaurant are the stars of the resort in my honest opinion. If you are in for a quiet vacation, this is an unexpected gem! We enjoyed every second of it!
