We stayed at Beruntun Hideaway in August 2025, shortly after it opened in April, and it was a truly memorable experience. Wan, the owner, runs the entire place on his own and puts an incredible amount of effort into making guests feel welcome. His dedication really shows, especially in the little details and in organizing activities. We joined a snorkeling trip through him, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay – we swam with turtles and even spotted reef sharks, which was unforgettable!

we arrived during the end of season. nearly monsoon but the weather is bright and shine with bonus not many people. the resort is preparing for monsoon arrival but we just love it. breakfast was great. love your eggs. staff are kinds. the manager is attentive and kind enough to upgrade our room. we just enjoy kg. genting. would love to come again.

Tioman island is well maintain and have all the basic necessities. There are some coral reef rehabilitation and it works. A lot of big fish when snorkelling at the marine park. You can spot black reef shark and stingray at the beach. Tioman island is just so beautiful

I went there for diving and the jungle, my family for the beaches and we were not disappointed ! The only problem is the travel from Kuala Lumpur - about 4 and a half hours in a car and then 2 hours in a ferry is a bit too much. Another thing you will be surprised is that on a nice tropical island there is no local fruit at all ! But that is the result of Tioman being a wildlife reserve.

Short, I liked it a lot and plan to come back with family sometime. Has beaches, some hiking opportunities, good food. Snorkeling and diving must be good as well - check out reviews from others, I did not do these for weather constraints. In Genting and Paya, villagescape was nicer and better taken care of than what I've seen at Pangkor and Perhentian (not counting the posh places of course). You're taken there on a massive boat - for those not fancying waves, a clear advantage over Perhentian, though also a longer journey.

Beautiful island with many things to see and do - snorkelling, diving, hiking, jungle tours. Some of the beaches were stunning, felt like we were in the Caribbean/South Pacific islands. As a local, I really hope that the beauty of the island will be preserved, there are still some parts of beach (on west coast) with trash and construction debris lying around, it would be great if these could be cleaned up. Sadly, much of the coral is also bleached, but this is a global phenomena. If you swim further out from the coast, there is still a lot of intact coral which was great to see.

Perfect get away.

Perfect get away. I believe Covid shut down has drained a lot of reserves of the hotels and therefore a lot of necessary maintenance is postponed. There live 4,000 people on Tioman but there are during the 7 months of operation of the island way too many tourist to manage for these 4,000 people. I was here for the second time and nature and animals are breathtaking, amazing island to visit!

The island itself is very beautiful.

The island itself is very beautiful. After 20 years I went this time again . The corrals have been damaged so much . Not so inviting environment for free living tourists. Everything has changed.

It is a amazing experience to stay at tunamaya resort..staffs are very friendly and helpful..from welcoming us during our arrival until we departed from the hotel..the resort is very serene and it is good place to go for some healing…plus we had wonderful time snorkelling at tioman island as it offers very magnificent corals and variant shades of fishes..overall tioman is a great place to take a break from hustle and bustle of city life while enjoying its nature and islands..😊😎

if you expect a 5 star hotel experience, then you're at the wrong place here. It's quite bare bones, but does well what it's supposed to be doing. AC is cold, shower is warm, staff is friendly and accommodating. We didn't try breakfast but everyone else looked happy having it. We were rushing to get to the jetty so one of the staff members picked us up on their motorbike. Distance is about 5 minutes of brisk walk to everything else.

X Rector is a very special little place! The rooms are immaculate and everything has been very well thought through. Wee is the best host you can ask for, he goes over and beyond to make your stay at Tioman Island perfect. He is also very knowledgeable and arranges amazing snorkel trips. And his mum is lovely and cooks a delicious dinner!

For me, in that part of the island the best hotel as it was very quiet but had next door a much more active hotel if you want to choose both options, in front of the beach. Unbeatable experience, the staff was great, helpful at all times.
