Akaroa has incredible scenery, history, artisan food...

Akaroa has incredible scenery, history, artisan food businesses, spoilt for choice of eateries and activities with welcoming, friendly business owners who offer services with pride and courtesy...and oooo la la the A La Baguette almond croissants are 'to die for'. Loved the Akaroa Dolphin Cruise and seeing the Hectar dolphins up close! Akaroa is a must-do destination.

A very lovely place, the locals are super friendly and have time to chat. We did a boat trip to see the dolphins and went out to dinner at the Madeira Hotel. The shops are very quaint with lovely gifts and not too expensive. The waterfront is stunningly beautiful (we were lucky with the weather) and the water sparkled every day. I also recommend going to Takapuneke Reserve, a cultural landmark up on the hill on Onuku Road, it’s a special place and very unique. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable.

Our stay was only a couple of days but we really enjoyed the...

Our stay was only a couple of days but we really enjoyed the Akaroa Dolphin Nature Cruise. Several enjoyable walks and there is plenty to see and do within walking distance of our accommodation. The Common was great for breakfast and there is a lovely bakery & butcher nearby as well to stock up before heading home.

Akaroa is a French inspired lakeside township.

Akaroa is a French inspired lakeside township. The cottages are simply beautiful. There are many restaurants and cafe's to choose from. You can walk everywhere. the butcher/deli was excellent. The supermarket is small but has all the essentials. We ate at Ma Maison (exceptional) and we got burgers from the Fish and Chip van in the main street - simply delicious. Coffee was from the waffle place. The Giant's House is well worth a visit

Akaroa is a beautiful little town with stunning restful...

Akaroa is a beautiful little town with stunning restful views. Walking around the sea front is easy and there are many gorgeous shops and cafes/restaurants to enjoy at your leisure. The Giants House and Gardens are incredible!! Having the Lighthouse door open for a few hours on the weekend is also a highlight to go inside and learn of it's history. So many adventures to explore! Loved Akaroa.

I think I would have liked an extra day but being on a tight...

I think I would have liked an extra day but being on a tight schedule I had to move on. Great dining facilities in Akaroa and I did an early morning kayaking activity followed by a wildlife cruise. I recommend both.

Fantastic hotel! Rooms with the ocean view, spacious, and they look fancy. The small kitchenette has everything you need, the area is great and quiet. And the neibourhood is full of roses with a wonderful smell! The staff is also very friendly and responsive: late check-in? not a problem! All instructions were clear, and in the morning they were happy to tell us about Akaroa and activities around we could do :)

Gorgeous property near the lovely town of Akaroa. Jane is most welcoming as a host and provides a magnificent breakfast. We stayed twice on our trip, in different rooms, both of which were fabulous with views out across the immaculate gardens to the bay. It almost felt like coming home when we returned here at the end of our tour of NZ. I would recommend this an alternative to staying in Christchurch.

We had an amazing stay at Cherrywood Cottage. The view is amazing and a very short drive into Akaroa (3-4 mins). It was clean and had everything we needed. Like a home away home. Highly recommend.
