It was a clean and nicely furnished cottage with plenty of space, Nice garden to sit in. Good shower. Comfy bed. Handy for the Saturday market and nice shops down by the river. Good supermarket opposite with fresh food and lovely Goose Cafe along the road found on last day.

We had a lovely stay with our small dog and 12 week old baby, the place had everything we needed and Madeleine was very accomodating when we were a little late leaving in the morning! Beautifully kept and easy to find location.

The cycle ride from Matakana to Omaha beach is a must do.

The cycle ride from Matakana to Omaha beach is a must do. It is very picturesque and you see so much more on a bike than in the car. The Farmers Daughter is a lovely cafe to stop on route. The cafe at Omaha township is also worth a visit. We highly recommend going to both the Sculpetereum and Brick Bay Sculpture park. Don't miss the local cinema and the famous Saturday market. The Jin Jin Thai restaurant does huge meals. We had takeaways from them 2 nights in a row and shared one meal between 2 of us.

Matakana is a beautiful place and enjoyed looking around the...

Matakana is a beautiful place and enjoyed looking around the local shops and pub and restaurants. Close to other attractions like Omaha beach and up to Leigh and the Goat island Marine Reserve. We also visited Snell Beach and surrounding area. Some very good wineries around the area well worth visiting.

Most beautiful place to visit beautiful nature around and lots to do except for pricing on products and the pricing of the sculpture place pay more than $50 a person is quite steep so we opted to visit places we didn’t have to spend any money and enjoyed it just as much. Marakana is simply beautiful

Experience the Sculptureum and Brick Bay sculpture walk! Great hospo options - The Vintry, Matakana Market Kitchen, Jin Jins, and Brick Bay restaurant. Tawharanui Peninsula is a must for walks and scenery. Other great walking options around the area too.

Perfectly located for beautiful multiple beaches and handy places to visit. You need a car. Some of the nearby beaches (Tāwharanui here’s looking at you), you are best to plan to get there early - say by 9am on public holidays in super summery weather - for access and parking reasons (there is plenty of beach to go around!).. and take shade structures and sunscreen with you! Gorgeous though.

We had a lovely two-day stay at the Garden Apartment. The location is perfect—it's very close to the village center (only a 5-minute walk!), yet it feels incredibly peaceful and quiet. The apartment is well-equipped with everything we needed. We were also deeply inspired by Jules’ beautiful artwork displayed around the place. Jules was a fantastic and welcoming host. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Matakana!

If you need to de-stress, just book this place. Tauhou Matakana is stunningly beautiful and incredibly quiet. Chantel and the sweet dog Bertie made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The space is super clean, the furniture is high quality, and the breakfast was such a treat. You can really feel the love Chantel and Peter put into their plants and fruit trees. It’s easily a 10/10 for us. Highly recommended!

Great location right in the heart of Matakana, short walk to markets, shops, cafes and pubs. Awesome communication and early check-in was accommodated which was really great! The unit was very clean, it has everything you need for a lovely stay including firewood already stacked in the outdoor fireplace! Super comfortable bed and lovely linen. Really nice place to stay!
