The view is amazing! Rangi is definitely the best situated of the three yurts on the property. Junction Road also makes a good, central base for exploring the island assuming you have a rental car / scooter / e-bike / whatever. Such a peaceful, distinctive, memorable place - at a relatively reasonable price for Waiheke.

If you're looking for a place that is quiet, clean, comfortable, has all the amenities for home cooking and living, great bird life, plenty of space and places to relax both inside and outside, not too far from town, then I can highly recommend The Island Veranda as your next place to stay on Waikehe Island. We would certainly come back again. Also a big thanks to the team at Our Island Property Management for great service and communication.

This is a sunny, warm two bedroom cottage, in a central location - an easy 5 minute walk from the centre of Oneroa village. Rooms are light and bright, and the bathroom is fairly new and immaculately clean (as is the whole cottage). There is a heatpump for cooler days and good airflow with open wndows for hotter days. The cottage has a good deck for evening use during summer stays and a garden area in the front which is surprisingly private. The road itself is quiet and the whole experience is restful. The road is close to AT bus routes, so getting around without a car is pretty straightforward - it is a short run from the ferry terminal on the main bus route, for example. Decent sized fridge/freezer and a microwave in the kitchen. No oven but there is a portable double element unit in the cupboard for cooking with.

Absolutely wonderful fish n chips on the beach ate mostly at the hotel hm cooked. Plenty of buses with a bus stop near where we stayed which was convenient for next time maybe. Put grandchildren on the zip line on our visit.

The weather was great so that helped - sitting outside in the warm winter sun at the restaurant with the view of Onetangi Beach was delightful! We also enjoyed the buzz of Oneroa township and had a lovely meal at a restaurant overlooking the beach.

Love Waiheke Island.

Love Waiheke Island. It's our to go to Island when we need to relax and enjoy the beauty of NZ Island that is just less than an hour Ferry trip from our busy Auckland City. Perfect place to relax, and just chill. Locals are all so friendly and warm. Wines are amazing, with so many varieties. Cafe and restaurants are just chill places to enjoy food and wine and local community ambiance.

Waiheke is an idylic island in the middle of Auckland's outer harbour. Think of it as a safe but convenient haven in one of the world's safest haven countries. I'd buy a place there if it wasn't for my seasickness.

Seamless travel to and from Waiheke by ferry - we travelled from Half Moon Bay on the car ferry. Although a car is good to get around - there seem to be plentiful buses and taxis. The playground at Little Oneroa was a treat for the kids. Our trip was for a family wedding and although we had a large number staying in different places everybody was within a reasonable distance to each other. The wedding was held at Goldies Estate and it was a picture perfect location.

Great place with a fab holiday vibe in the summer season.

Great place with a fab holiday vibe in the summer season. However if you wanted to get away from it all, there are spectacular beaches around the coast that are virtually empty. We ate one night at Ki Maha on the seafront at Onetangi Beach - a return visit after finding it last time we visited! Excellent fine dining for a special occasion as pricey.
