Our room was beautiful. The Lounge was spacious with a large TV. The bedroom with an ensuite was lovely. The bed was comfortable and very large. We would choose this motel as our first choice of places to stay. We would definitely book again.

We stayed for one night twice as part of our road trip to Gisborne. The motel rooms were like brand new, spotlessly clean and very roomy. The windows and doors are double glazed, so it was quiet despite being on a busy road. Everything we needed was available. We rate this motel as the best we have stayed in.

Whakatane is a beautiful town.

Whakatane is a beautiful town. Plenty of cafes, shops and activities. It is very scenic and one of my favourite places in all NZ. There is a lovely river walk and a short drive over the hill is Ohope Beach which is fabulous. The climate is wonderful and the people are friendly.

Great little town and the people are super friendly. We ate at the following spots and highly recommend them all: Ataturk Turkish Cafe - (they were nice enough to serve us even though they were about to close at 8.30pm) food was nice and fresh, very filling Cafe 4U - Ate here twice for breakfast. The ladies were ON (amazing) and the food was delish and served in a timely manner even when they were busy Roquette Restaurant & Bar - had our grad dinner here. Lovely meals all 'round and service was great. Drip Desserts - mouthwatering cookies and desserts! ughhh so many to chose from, do not leave Whakatane without grabbing your sweet treat from here!

Stayed at the Riverside Holiday Park - great place to stay...

Stayed at the Riverside Holiday Park - great place to stay with or without the kids. Close to the town center. Walkways in and around Whakatane - take your pick. Plenty of nice places to eat, lots of things to do and see! Sushi shop in the main St, The Strand is my go to! Ohope Beach just over the hill. Aquatic center, Movie theater, parks, beach for the young ones!

Love the small-town community feel and proximity to stunning beaches, marina and water-sports. Lots of choices of hotels/motels to suit most budgets and a good selection of cafe's and restaurants.

Lovely little town with everything you might need shop wise.

Lovely little town with everything you might need shop wise. A hop, skip and a jump to Ohope beach which is absolutely gorgeous. Awateri trains an absolute must activity. Took our kids to the Awateri hot pools which were okay. Probably would not stay at camp ground. We stayed at Riverside camping ground which was great.

Whakatane is a beautiful place with beaches and heaps to see and do. But got rudely woken by the cleaner who made a heck of a noise vacuuming and banging table and chairs around at 5am, seriously I wasn't a happy camper.

What can I say.. so many great points.. the cost is a little more than what we normally pay at motels but definitely worth it.. comfy couch.. beds.. pillows.. even the bath towels were so fluffy and soft.. good size apartment.. great backyard to relax.... peaceful.. close to beach.. basically like your own home.. way better than standard motel.. and the breakfast and snacks were the best.. All the little extras made you feel at home
