The apartment is really great. Large, well-equipped, clean and comfortable. There is no garden, but the terrace is fair. The landlords were very friendly, gave us a lot of advice and other information. We really appreciate their supply with fresh vegetable!

Everything! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room ( we booked the larger one with a small kitchenette, worth it!) The view is amazing. The vegetables in between the vineyard were interesting to see. Everything and everyone was so detailed oriented.

Big variety of food, very friendly to vegetarians and food intolerances. Beautiful destination. One of 2 white sandy beaches available. Reception had many ideas for activities and could help with loads of suggestions. Quiet and family friendly crowd, great staff. Many organised activities. Exceptionally clean. Show every night with live music. The family suite was very big with 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms, a balcony and a kitchen.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! We had a beachfront room on the second floor, and as the weather was beautiful, we had the windows wide open while we were there, allowing the beach sounds and smells to drift in. Ponta do Sol is a fantastic little town, in a spectacular setting, with trails coming in from each side. We were gutted we only had the 1 night there, as it would've been quite easy to fill in another day or two. As it is, the hotel location is perfect for doing the popular Levada do Moinha hike, as the start is only a few kms away, uphill. The included breakfast is one of the best we've had on Madeira so far, with a wide variety of both hot and cold dishes. We made use of the gym, which is pretty small and basic, but were still able to get in a suitable chest/triceps workout. There is an indoor pool next to the open gym, which looked great (and was popular), however we didn't use it. One of the better things about the hotel, which we were unaware of until we were there, is the rooftop relaxation area. There are various chairs and couches there, some in the open, and some undercover, but all with a fantastic view over the neighbouring roofs and ocean. Free parking is available in the underground carpark. Having completed our tour of the island of Madeira, this hotel is the stand-out choice of all our accommodation options, and as I mentioned previously, is the one that we really wish we'd had another night or two to spend at!

Canhas is on the sunniest side of the island . It is a good choice if you want sun and sunsets . You need a car to get around if you are staying in Canhas . It’s a 40 minute drive to Funchal. It’s a good base if you would like to explore the whole island as you can drive to anywhere in the island in under an hour .

We loved the location because of easy access by car to the...

We loved the location because of easy access by car to the mountain trails. We also loved our visits to Planalto restaurant where the food was amazing and good value and the hosts were lovely and friendly. There is a great taxi service from the main road and a speedy bus that goes into Funchal if you want a rest from driving.
