The location 1 km up the dirt track with no one but sheep, birds and fish around was great for us. We had eaten in town before so had no reason to leave once we got there.

The owners, Mrs. Judy Browne & her husband, are very amiable and super helpful in ensuring we have a comfortable stay at their place. Their accommodation is one of the closest you can get to the Tiffindel Ski Resort (unfortunately closed during our time visiting the place). We are a group of 8 people and really enjoying our stay at the Den Hagen Guest Farm, the house is homey, and the location is very serene and beautiful, the perfect escape to refresh your head and mind.

Rhodes is one of those rare places that instantly makes you slow down and appreciate the simple things. The village is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery and fresh country air, making it the perfect escape from the pace of everyday life. What stood out most was the friendliness of the residents. Everyone we met was welcoming, kind, and always happy to stop for a chat, creating a genuine sense of community that made us feel right at home. If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature, Rhodes is hard to beat. We left feeling refreshed and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Rhodes is a small, charming town steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. I loved wandering its quiet streets, admiring the quaint cottages, spending time by the river, breathing in the fresh mountain air, playing pickleball, and simply sitting outside soaking up the winter sunshine. It's a beautiful, unspoilt corner of South Africa that feels wonderfully untouched. If you're looking to escape the pace of everyday life, relax, and truly slow down, Rhodes is the perfect destination. I can't wait to visit again.

The Naudes' New Pass is a challenge.

The Naudes' New Pass is a challenge. Make sure that your vehicle has high clearance and tyres that are in good condition. A 3-night stay is the minimum due to the effort of getting there. I will hopefully be able to go back sometime!

We've enjoyed our overnight stay at Rhodes.

We've enjoyed our overnight stay at Rhodes. It is a very quaint little town with very friendly people. We were very surprised to find that there were no fuel stations, as we've drove the mountain pass over Naude's Neck, from Underberg, which is a very long trip. Fortunately our vehicle has a 95 litre fuel tank, and we've made Barkly East without real worries.

The best Tourist information office in the world.

The best Tourist information office in the world. The Studio is an absolute gem, the food, atmosphere and service is excellent and memorable. Rhodes is the center of slow living and well worth a visit. Do not rush the experience.
