Our host Alexander was there to meet us on arrival and help with our cases. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious with a very comfortable bed. He made an arrangement to provide us with a small table and comfy outdoor chairs on the patio so that we could eat our take away dinner and also provided us with wine glasses. Breakfast was very good and made to order, coffee excellent and the extra attention to detail and personal interaction with the hosts made us feel very at home.

The photo doesnt do justice, the estate is soo beautiful, the grounds, the room, the breakfast! The owners are fast in response- check in is smooth. Amazing amazing stay!! In fact this is probably the most memorable stay throughoutout our trip, too bad we didnt stay longer! I’d definitely would want to come back if I ever visit the region again in future

The appartment is well located for Somerset Mall & all it has to offer. Superb beach, but during the winter, services are limited, There are any number of restaurants of all types and umpteen vineyards to go and visit. This was our second visit, the first being in summer. The difference, as you can imagine, is very noticeable. Easy access from the airport and the start of the 'Garden Route' which, if you have hired a car, I can highly recommend. Good luck and happy experiences .

During the big storm in Cape Town, Dina truly came to our rescue and was an absolute angel in a time of despair. After our flight only arrived at 5pm instead of 11am, we suddenly found ourselves needing accommodation for the night because all the roads to Hermanus were closed due to the severe weather conditions. Even though Dina’s guest rooms had been badly damaged by the storm, she warmly welcomed us into her own home and kindly gave us two comfortable guest rooms for the night. Everything was cosy, clean, and absolutely perfect after such a stressful day. What made the experience even more special was Dina’s incredible kindness and generosity. Although she already had plans for the evening, she took the time to settle us in, offered us wine and beer from her fridge, and even helped us order takeaway food. We are so grateful for her hospitality and care. I would highly recommend staying here anytime — Dina is a wonderful host with a truly caring heart.

Very pleasant town and so convenient for visiting places nearby. Good restaurants and shopping centres. Traffic was not very heavy. Roads were very good. City very clean Plenty of activities available.

I lived in Heldervue area for 11 years & moved to...

I lived in Heldervue area for 11 years & moved to Durbanville area in April 2025 due to sale of property & to be nearer to family. Somerset West is a lovely area & really worth visiting with lots of wine farms & lovely restaurants nearby & Strand Beach & Gordon's Bay also about 10 mins drive away. The host Liesel was very friendly & accomodating & went out of her way to upgrade my room from a single room to double room due to date change. This made my stay even more amazing. Thanks Liesel. I really recommend the guest house with a very central location.

Very cute, has some nice shopping centres, nicely located between Cape Town and Stellenbosch, nothing is a far drive. There can be some traffic on week days though, but if you leave earlier in the morning it's fine. Quiet place, easy to drive around or get an uber. Lots of wine farms near by and some great restaurants (trip advisor and google both have good lists for these). Some great hikes that are nearby as well.

The city is well laid out and it's easy to find your way. There are some hidden gems which could be better popularised. All the amenities one would need are to be found in Somerset West and it is within easy reach of Cape Town. There are some excellent restaurants and vineyards within easy reach.

Serenity Suite is a true suite, with a spacious sitting area, well-fitted kitchen, a luxurious bedroom, and a splendid shower. Everything about it is exceptional and strikingly stylish. it's located in a quiet residential suburb of Somerset West and is an ideal base for exploring other areas of the Cape. I was there for one night; next time I will stay for longer.

If you're looking for an oasis while in the Somerset West area, this is the place to head for. The extremely welcoming and kind hosts can always be approached for great insider tips to discover the charms of this part of the Cape. An unexpected plus: the well-behaved, happy dogs are always ready to greet guests cheerfully when they leave and return to the property.

Truly worth the money. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the staff were really professional and friendly. This was our first holiday in over 2 years and we couldn't have stayed at a better place. The hotel is centrally located in Cape Town so everything that we wanted to do was less than an hour's drive. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

The location and setting of the apartment was stunning. The apartment was beautifully decorated and furnished, and had everything we required. Our host, Marinus, was super friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and most certainly will stay their again when in Somerset West.
