The location is nothing less than amazing. Right at the point where the river meets the sea, with lovely balcony and view. The apartment is truly amazing, well equipped with everything (including laundry machine) and anything you could think of. Unfortunately it was raining from the moment we arrived to the moment we left and we didn't have the chance to properly enjoy Stilbaai nor the balcony and the view, but it was still a good stay on the way to garden route.

Nikki and Henk met us at the house to hand over the keys and explain the house a bit - they were very friendly and helpful and gave us some tips on safety and walks in the area. Their house is perfect for a bigger family with an indoor braai area and big kitchen with a dishwasher. The outside area for my dog was safe and well shaded etc. The house is easy to find and is conveniently close to the main 'shopping' hub of Stilbaai. We loved the little walk on the path alongside the lagoon, which was just a few minutes down the road from the house. My 13yr old enjoyed skate boarding in the street.

Beautiful place. People friendly. Safe place. Small town with all suitable shops for a holiday brake away. Park your car and walk around the small town is very safe. We did not go to the beach, because of time, but it looked beautiful from far. Houses beautiful to look at.

We enjoyed a long walk along the river estuary.

We enjoyed a long walk along the river estuary. Very beautiful and peaceful. We also had a lovely breakfast at Lilliput Social Cafe and Bar. Best coffee I've tasted for ages. Our stay was too short to add more to the review.

The choices of restaurants and the quality of the food are up there! Unik restaurant felt as if we were eating at a Michelin-starred establishment. Well done. Also, On the Rocks is highly recommended. The overall neatness of Stilbaai town itself improved 100% over the past two years. The influx of more occupants is evident in the upgrading of many of the "old" establishments; e.g., the "Square" is now a lovely "health" section to visit.

Stilbaai is a hidden gem.

Stilbaai is a hidden gem. Exquisite beaches as far is the eye can see, a river for boating and skiing, canoeing etc. Best Restaurant in the area is the Seekombuis, great menu and view of the sea. We were thrilled with the Roland Rudd Birdhide in the Skulpiesbaai nature reserve. Jongensfontein is only 10 km away, where there is an amazing coastal hike, a tidal pool and a perfect beach for swimming - very safe for children.

A clean town and picturesque bay.

A clean town and picturesque bay. As weather rainy did more indoor things - olive farm and gin tasting well organised. The local museum and the ancient fish traps very interesting. The feeding of the eels intriguing. Meal at Seekombuis most enjoyable.

There's so much to do in Stilbaai!

There's so much to do in Stilbaai! The eels are fascinating and the Blombos Museum is excellent. I was amazed by the ancient fish traps and loved the peaceful bird hide. This town has it all - history, the natural beauty of the Goukou River and the beautiful beaches. I didn't get to experience the distillery and the cheese farm. They'll have to wait until next time!

We stopped over whilst traveling and enjoyed the rest stop at SitteRus. From the outside its a pretty shiplap clad facade with a dreamy seaside holiday feel. The rooms are nice and modern with good mattresses, pillows and large windows that makes it feel quite spacious inside. Well equipped kitchen with cleaning goodies and extra milk, not too far from the beach or other places worth visiting in Stilbaai.
