We had an amazing stay! The location is fantastic, and the layout of the house is perfect, with everything you could possibly need to feel right at home. I visited the Quinta da Barroca in May 2026 during my trip to the Douro Valley, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere and surrounding views were absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall system and service of the hotel were exceptional. A special thanks to the receptionist, whose name was probably Alex. He was a very kind and helpful person and guided us very well throughout our stay. The breakfast was also good, and the best part for our family was the swimming pools. My children enjoyed them a lot. The nearby scenery outside the hotel was breathtaking and made the stay even more memorable. I would definitely love to visit again very soon.

The home is situated on a beautiful view hillside surrounded by grapevines. We were there for 3 nights. It is a family run agrotourismo, and they could not have been more welcoming. The house itself was spotlessly clean. Jorge welcomed us and showed us the property. We had the whole house to ourselves, with a complete kitchen. We decided to have our dinners at the Quinta, which was a good choice as the roads are curvy for our American driving style. We brought our own charcuterie one night, and another night we were able to have our dinner prepared by the Quinta owners. It was a delicious Portuguese meal from appetizers through fish and vegetables, steak and potatoes, desserts and wine. Amazing. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and walking the 2 mile rural lane with views all around. This is a special place, and we thank the family for sharing it with us!
