Casa dos Avós is one of those rare places that truly has a soul. The house is incredibly charming, full of character, and feels authentic in a way that makes your stay special from the moment you arrive. It's a beautiful house with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Perfect to share among a group of friends. It has a huge living room area with a fire place and outside a big BBQ area. The host was exceptional — warm, friendly, and always responsive, making me feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The location is perfect for anyone looking to disconnect and explore the beauty of the Alentejo. Nearby, you can discover the Pulo do Lobo waterfalls, and the vast Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana, known for its hiking trails, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes. The historic Mértola Castle and the old Islamic quarter are also well worth exploring. Restaurants are conveniently located in the next village, making it easy to enjoy great local food while still staying in a peaceful and quiet setting.

Everything, from arrival to the end! The person at reception was very friendly and nice! The owner and his mother too! A great place , really, really beautiful and clean place!

Great location in the middle of the old town. Very friendly, communicative and helpful host. She offered the use of common spaces, (sitting areas, fridge and kitchen) which was great for preparing our breakfast before the big trail race. We couldn't park right next to the property, but there was plenty of free street parking nearby. While the room was compact, it was more than enough for two people. The host provided a lot of extra blankets and there was heating from the a/c, so it was comfortable for a winter stay.

Great location, really very nice and helpful staff. I had a problem with my motorcycle and they saved my trip!

The breakfast is fantastic! All the food is fresh and local, and you can tell it’s made with care. The hosts are super friendly and make you feel right at home.

My third time at this property. Excellent views of town and river. Comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great for relaxing and hiking.
