This well-run location is an absolute gem and I'd be delighted to be able to stay again sometime in the future. The rooms were well equipped and spacious, the dining and breakfast experience were exceptional and the bar was well stocked and staffed to boot! My partner and I were both pleasantly surprised by this upscale venue and felt very well looked after by the friendly and obliging staff throughout our stay. The Annex room with private bathroom was very good. The description of having to climb 40 stairs to the annex rooms is misleading. It was not a straight up 40 Steps but definitely not for those traveling with suitcases. Loved the closeness to the cathedral which allowed free unlimited walking in the cathedral and on the grounds all day. Breakfast was sit down by time skits and offered a fabulous huge choice. The rooms bathroom was big and the room had a large smart tv. Internet signal was strong. Definitely the place to stay if you’re a pilgrim starting the Via Francigena because you feel your right in the centre of this beautiful religious sanctuary.
