I felt like I was entering someone's home that was eager to welcome me. The footbath was a delightful surprise!

We stayed 2 nights at the property, and would highly recommend it. Yuji and Yunko were very hospitable. They picked us up at the ferry and at the bus stop after the bike trip. They helped us with the bike rentals. We even shared a beer in the evening with them and their daughter Nao. They spared no effort to make us feel welcome. The room is actually the 2F of a small house on Mukaishima island. This means you get a lot more space than most hotels. Everything is clean, and the beds (twin beds) are fairly comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet. A convenience store and 24/7 supermarket is close to the Inn, although we didnt go there. Island Country Inn is easy to reach from the Onomichi train station (not the shinkansen one), the ferry to Mukaishima is short and frequent, and as mentioned they provide a transfer from the terminal to the Inn. We found it an ideal location to do the bike day trip over all the islands/bridges, and we would certainly stay there again.

Yellow House is located in Naoshima, just a 16-minute walk from Gokaisho Art House Project and 1.2 miles from Benesse House Museum.

Our last accommodation was a 13 sq. meter hotel room. The Yellow House was like a mansion after that accommodation with a kitchen, 3 beds, living room, and washing machine. We even had the use of two push bikes. The fridge was loaded with bread, fruit, butter, jam, and yogurt. What a treat! What a gracious host!

This is a beautiful traditional Japanese guest house on the island of Yuge. We spent a night here while biking the Shimanami Kaido trail. Yas, our host, was super kind and helpful. Fully equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea. Nice shower. Towels can be rented for 100 yen and laundry machine use for 100 yen as well. Very comfortable tatami beds. Close to a very good izakaya restaurant for dinner as well!

The guesthouse was clean, the facilities(shower kitchen and toilet) were not only clean but everything was big(which helps when you’re over 1.90cm in Japan) The location is incredible, tsuwano is incredible beautiful, and you can use the facilities bicycle to ride around town They also offer fun events, I took up making Genjimaki, a local cake with a rich history with Abe San, who own a local genjimaki stoe, this ended up not only being a night of great cultural exchanges, but genuinely made friends Naoki San, the manager is also an amazing guide and showed me around town
