I had a fantastic stay at this charming guesthouse. The private room was cozy and provided a restful night's sleep. The shared kitchen and bathroom were clean and well-maintained. Despite my late arrival at 10 pm, I was warmly welcomed, which set a positive tone for my stay. The host's hospitality truly embodied the "Buen Camino" spirit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay!

Beautiful decor, exceptionally clean and well looked after. Very elegant bedroom, comfy bed and great to have the small kitchen. Lovely garden area and pool. Loved the terrace at the top of the property with views over the city. Magarida was a great host. George at Breakfast did a great job single handedly cooking eggs to order, serving and waiting upon guests.
Great location, 5 mins from Sao Bento station, the Cathedral and not far from the Douro.

A Portuguesa is a guest house for people who are looking for a simple bedroom for a reasonable price. The guesthouse is located in an authentic old house, which could use some renovation on the outside. Inside it is well maintained. It is quietly located in a pleasant neighborhood with many bars and restaurants. Much less touristy than the area on the banks of the Douro.
The ladies at the reception, who speak only Portuguese, are very friendly.

The host was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, giving us recommendations for the area and much-needed information on public transportation. There is a metro stop very nearby the guesthouse so we could get to the city center in under 10 mins! The room was squeaky clean, above expectations. Contrary to his own belief, the host speaks great English. We really enjoyed our stay and will be recommending to friends.

The location was great - just a quick 10-15mins walk away from the city centre in Porto! The place is really charming, and there's a cute courtyard, which is very nice. The room is comfortable; however, do note that the bathroom is in the same room but separated by a partition wall so you can "hear" everything haha. The male host who welcomed us on the first day was amazing!! Super cheerful and smiley, and gave us some great recommendations around Porto.
