The garden is where the day comes to rest: sunshine, the sound of the stream, the alpine landscape all around, and a barbecue for the evening after a day in the mountains. Hello from Kaprun! I'm Chris, your host. Ferienhaus Kollinger isn't an anonymous rental: my grandfather was a carpenter and built it himself, entirely from timber — and you can still feel that today. I've put a lot of time and work into renovating it, without taking away its original character. Everything is ready before you arrive, and throughout your stay I'm always reachable — whether you need a hiking recommendation, a table at a restaurant, or simply have a question about the house. What makes me happiest is when guests say goodbye and tell me they felt at home. That's exactly why I do this. I'm looking forward to welcoming you to Kaprun! Kaprun lies at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn, Austria's well-known glacier mountain. The 3K K-onnection cable car takes you straight from the village centre up to 3,000 metres — to Gipfelwelt 3000 with its viewing platform, ice arena and views across to the Grossglockner. Close by you'll find the Sigmund Thun Gorge with its wooden walkways above the rushing water, and the medieval Kaprun Castle. The trip up to the Mooserboden high mountain reservoirs is an experience in itself — by bus and inclined lift into the world of glaciers. All of it included with the Summer Card! Zell am See is just a few minutes away: the lakeside promenade, boat trips and swimming in summer, plus restaurants and cafés right on the water. A little further afield, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and the Krimml Waterfalls are well worth the drive. After a day in the mountains: the water and sauna world at Tauern Spa, or a stop at one of the mountain huts around Kaprun
