Bed + Bauhaus at Yallingup offers guests two well-designed and beautifully crafted suites finished in a contemporary Scandinavian design style that is refreshingly different; offering quality and value, space and simplicity. The suites are located in a separate wing of an architectural complex - a project 'Maison de Cour Yallingup - an Australian courtyard house'. This prototype building attracted the interest of Grand Designs Australia as the first WA project for the series, until the construction schedule extended beyond filming deadlines; the passive-solar construction ensures maximum thermal comfort, with double-glazing, cross-ventilation, superior insulation, ceiling fans and a/c. Material finishes (and cleaning supplies) are environmentally responsible and eco-friendly (e.g. VOC free), providing a hygenic, healthy indoor environment. The property has been designed to take advantage of the views looking west over Millbrook Valley towards Yallingup, with floor to ceiling glass opening onto a lawns both sides; on the west towards magnificent sunsets, and to the east side for sunrise.

Nicola is a UK trained and experienced design professional (masterplanning/urban design/tourism). A graduate of Greenwich Uni UK, Nicola now has post-graduate qualifications from Curtin Uni WA (inc. innovation and global sustainability) and a PhD (co-design/architecture/interior design).

Yallingup is a special part of the Margaret River Region with a spectacular coastline and beautiful natural landscapes including the Leewin-Naturaliste National Park. Yallingup ('place of caves') is home to many premium wineries, the greatest number of galleries in the area, a huge variety of restaurants/cafes/bars, great surfing and swimming beaches, and a small friendly community of locals (of many species!).
