It deserves the Dark Sky International accreditation. It was wild to see so many stars, even with the sandwhich appearance of the Wolf Moon. Loved the wrap-around glass, the outdoor bath tub, the interior and the amenities.

Amazing, isolated cabin on a beautiful farm, with incredible views and a wonderful night sky. Everything you could need is available. Great way to unwind!

I loved our stay here. It was amazing to disconnect from the outside world for a weekend- the sunsets/ sunrises/ and night sky is phenomenal out there. I loved all the personal touches to the place, every piece of decoration feels well thought...

Seen in QANTAS, GREEN, URBAN LIST. Certified by Ecotourism Australia. Kestrel Nest sits in rolling farmland above a rocky stream. Off-grid and off-line - the perfect green getaway. Wide verandah and big windows allow you to be close to nature, a fire place and fire pit make for cosy nights. Linger in the outdoor bathtub. Cook up a storm with paddock to plate produce. Wildlife, endangered birds, tracks to explore. The night stars will have you amazed. Farm & Bird watching tours are available. Kestrel Nest is in splendid isolation miles from anyone. No other accommodation in sight unlike many other stays in the area. More than just a styled farm-stay, Kestrel Nest sits on the edge of our farmland and our conservation area protecting critically endangered habitat. Since opening Kestrel Nest we have planted 3,525 plants. Far from anyone yet close to everywhere, half-way between Sydney and Melbourne. Close to the Hume, the Snowy Mountains and the Sturt Hwys. Minimum two night stay. 2023 - Bronze - NSW Tourism Awards - Ecotourism 2023 - Finalist - NSW Sustainable Tourism Awards - Banksia Foundation 2022 - Finalist - National Sustainable Tourism Awards - Banksia Foundation
Kestrel Nest is set on Highfield Farm and Woodland. Two-thirds of our property protects critically endangered habitat. It's kind of like a private national park! Our aim is to share our beautiful farm and woodland with you.
There is lots in the local area for you to explore and enjoy. Beautiful natural landscapes, rolling farmland and waterfalls Vineyards and cellar doors, craft gin, cider and beer making. The Rail Trail from Rosewood to Tumbarumba. If you'd like to venture further Yarrangobilly Caves are a day trip away.
