This beautiful Beechworth property is situated only 1.2km from the center of town, situated in park like gardens. Beechworth House has an on-site French restaurant for dinner, for the exclusive use of our guests. There is an extensive wine cellar with local Beechworth wines along with other Australian wine regions and selected French wines. Both Continental and cooked breakfast is available in your suite daily. Beechworth House is the perfect venue for a weekend, or mid-week getaway, or just a one night stay to break your long journey. Our new 15 meter, solar heated, pool along with our Award winning in-house Chef who can prepare a perfect gourmet experience just for you, makes for the perfect Beechworth experience.

Denis Hagger the in house Chef is ex Melbourne and France where he was awarded Restaurant of the year twice and maintained a HAT in all of his restaurants.

Beechworth is one of Victorias best preserved former gold mining towns, situated in the north-east of the state between Wodonga and Myrtleford, and is a popular detour when travelling along the Great Alpine Road between Wangaratta and Bright. Beechworth’s commercial centre extends along Camp Street and presenting an almost unbroken series of elegant buildings and historic shop-fronts, many of which date back to the 19th century. The post office was built in 1869, the former Bank of Victoria (now a gold jewellery store) The Historic and Cultural Precinct, located in Ford Street, is a major attraction, comprising of the old court house, telegraph station, town hall, a museum, and a dark cell which at one time housed the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly. Beechworth is known for its attractive streets and parks lined with deciduous trees which create an intense colourful display in the autumn. La Trobe University Beechworth campus occupies the site of the former Mayday Hills hospital (Beechworth Lunatic Asylum) which was established in 1867.
