Prue was great at communicating prior to and during our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and the location was great. Prue has thought of everything, the small gestures go a long way and make you feel at home. It’s a beautiful self...

Despite being on a main road it was very quiet and green. It’s across from a market, walking distance to cafes and good restaurants, and around the corner from two tram lines, so about 45 minutes into Melbourne CBD. Very comfortable and Prue is...

The best part about this property is the proximity to restaurants and the tram station. We visited without a car and it was so easy to get around. Prue was such a lovely host and looked after us in every way. 10 on 10 for location and host.

The cottage is listed with another accommodation site where I continue to receive five-star reviews and maintain 'super host' status. Located at the rear of a heritage building in the heart of iconic St Kilda, this free standing cottage is a hidden gem tucked away in a secluded garden setting. Open plan, the cottage is great for couples, business and solo travellers, with distinct living zones for sleeping, cooking, dining and lounging, also a front outdoor dining / deck area with barbecue and rear garden. There is a queen size bed and a sofa that can be used as a single bed. The cottage is spacious yet cosy, contemporary with a warmth and rustic feel and with its wooden floorboards, timber blinds and abundance of natural light. It’s just a few minutes walk to some great cafes, restaurants, landmark locations and St Kilda beach/Port Phillip Bay and the fantastic and frequent trams and bus services to get you into the heart of the city and beyond. The St Kilda Skybus service is a 40 minute trip from the airport to St Kilda, with Stop 1 on Barkly Street, and then an easy three block/600 metre walk to the cottage gate.
I’m originally from Sydney and moved to Melbourne a few short decades ago... I was attracted to all this amazing city had to offer and still does, with regards to arts, music, food and the four seasons! I love this city and its hidden gems. The cottage certainly fits that description, literally a hidden gem in the middle of St Kilda. I work as an arts publicist on festivals and independent shows. I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot for work and pleasure, so understand that where you lay your head can make all the difference to your trip. I want the cottage to be your home away from home.
This apartment is tucked away in its own garden oasis and only minutes away from all St Kilda has to offer. The beautiful St Kilda Botanic Gardens are just around the corner and the less gentrified Balaclava shopping centre is a 10-minute walk. We are are also a short stroll to Port Phillip Bay and St Kilda beach for swimming, beachside cafes and beautiful bayside walks or bike riding. Melbourne is very bike friendly and there are bike paths that weave throughout this area and along the bay. Some of Melbourne's best restaurants are in St Kilda. The frequent bus and tram service offers easy access to the rest of Melbourne.
