Designed by Justin Bishop Interiors, The Blackwood is a sanctuary for two, featuring a sumptuous king-size bed, deep spa bath, and exquisite toiletries. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated—from the iPad-controlled surround sound system to the cosy gas log fire, oversized TV, and Nespresso coffee machine. Whether you’re unwinding to music, indulging in a luxurious soak, or simply enjoying the view with a coffee in hand, The Blackwood is a retreat like no other.
We love the tall trees, the crisp mountain air, and the magical views of Melbourne’s city lights twinkling in the distance from SkyHigh Mount Dandenong. We love the charming local shops and cafés — especially Prosperina Bakehouse, one of our absolute favourites. But our greatest joy is the nature that surrounds us — the birdsong, the wildlife, the ever-changing beauty just outside our door. It’s the kind of place that captures your heart. We never want to leave!
Sassafras, Olinda and Mt Dandenong are 3 beautiful and ecclectic villages in the Dandenongs. There are 5 Public Gardens, thousands of acres of national parks, cafes, 1000 steps to climb if you wish. Or, maybe you'll just choose to lounge about and enjoy a massage, a little gentle exploring of shops .There's as much or as little to do as you wish. A walk to Olinda or a walk through the forest in Sherbrooke, or a drive to the Yarra Valley wonderful wineries will be a beautiful day out. You will, however, come running home to curl up by the fire in the winter! Coffee at Ripe in Sassafras. Great hot breakfast for you at Dine Divine or Ripe.Traditional English tearoom at Miss Marples, but the highlight is a High Tea at Fortnums in Sassafras. We also love King Henry's Sassafras , Citrine Bistro & Bar in Olinda or Dudleys in Olinda for the best pizza and casual dining.
