The Blue Wren Blackheath is a cute mountains cottage where you can enjoy the entire top floor which overlooks Popes Glen towards Blackheath pool and Memorial Park beyond. It is located on a quiet street in a convenient location in the heart of Blackheath, 1km from Blackheath railway station. Most of the passing traffic are bushwalkers and dog walkers. The home features 3 bedrooms, a fully equiped kitchen, bathroom/laundry, comfy lounge and dining rooms, balcony and patio with a fire pit. Originally built in 1982, the property has been recently renovated and modernised for ease and comfort with air-conditioning and electric heating.

We hope you have a wonderful time exploring all that is on offer in the upper Blue Mountains. We are long time residents of the Blue Mountains, drawn by the rugged natural beauty being surrounded by National Parks, nature and clean air. As nature lovers, our interests and hobbies include discovering the wild places of the mountains, gardening, growing food, cooking, preserving good food and attempting to live a simple life. Given Blackheath's rich tradition with bush walking, rock climbing, vistas, food, the arts and a vibrant community, it became an obvious choice for us. We have been involved in education and youth development in the Blue Mountains for over 20 years. The Blue Mountains Community is our family and has been very good to us. It has helped us raise three wonderful young adults that are contributing well to our local communities. We are proud to call the mountains home.

The cottage is within walking distance to some of the best bush walks and premier rock climbs in the Blue Mountains: Pope's Glen, Govett's Leap, Hanging Rock, The Grand Canyon, Centennial Glen, Shipley, Pulpit Rock, Hat Hill Crag and Blue Gum Forest. Blackheath town centre, pool, great restaurants, pubs and the farmer's market are all within easy walking distance from the cottage. In your backyard is Pope's Glen, a Twitchers paradise with an abundance of native Australian birds, hence our theme for the cottage! A little further afield you can discover Mount Vic Flicks, Megalong Valley, Katoomba, The Three Sisters, Scenic World, many Grose Valley and Jamison Valley bush walks, the Hartley Valley, The Six Foot Track, Jenolan Caves, to name a few. We've lived in the mountains for over 25 years and still have not scratched the surface of places to discover!
