Being so passionate about Tourism in Healesville, “us tuckeroos” from the Tuck Inn Yarra Valley have completed the substantial renovation of the former ‘Mechanics Institute and Free library’ into further unique and luxury accommodation options (for adults only) right in the heart of Healesville. Dating originally from 1892, The Old Mechanics has had a fascinating history including the Library, Snooker Hall, Photography studio and Tea Rooms. Now invigorated and ready for the new lease of life this wonderful building deserves. Offering high specification self-catering accommodation options for up to 8 adults. This property has a lovely sun filled rear garden with private off road parking all within 30 seconds stroll into the ‘ville! Please also note in addition to our terms and conditions: LATE CALL OUT FEE: A fee of One Hundred Dollars will be charged to you (the guest) for a late call out fee regardless of reason.
Ozzie and I arrived in the ‘ville in September 2011. We moved into and still run a little Bed and Breakfast called “Tuck Inn Yarra Valley”. We have truly fallen in love with Healesville, the surrounding gorgeous area of the Yarra Valley and the fabulous community. The township has certainly evolved and is now a bustling nook filled with fabulous places to sippy sip and to eat! Being so passionate about hospitality, we ceased the opportunity to purchase this property “The Old Mechanics” in 2014. Over two years, we have shed some tears but more recently had plenty of bubbles as we have completely renovated what was formerly the “Old Mechanics Institute and Free Library” into further accommodation options for those who love to travel through and explore the area. Needless to say, I do strive to reach a balance in life. So over a year ago I took up triathlon training. Healesville has some awesome hills in which I train… and in doing so I manage to switch off (for a moment or two) before I am back into the swings of ‘all things hospitality’ and being mum and wife! Long may this life continue….
Where do I start! Both our properties are literally a tip toe away from the main street in Healesville which offers fabulous varieties in restaurants and bars/pubs and cellar doors. The 'must try' Four Pillars distillery is a 7 minute walk from us where you can only but feel the warm fuzzy feeling when trying a paddle of gin and tonic tasters or cocktails – delish! The Yarra Valley area is a massive draw card for those who enjoy wine, beer, cider, bubbles, cheese, food, exploring, walking, discovering, cycling and more importantly wanting to be immersed in life as it should be lived! We are truly blessed living here…. But in all honesty Healesville and the Yarra Valley is more accessible than most think. So best you vroom vroom it up to the ‘ville…. It’s all waiting to be discovered.
