It was very clean with all the amenities necessary for a long or short stay. It was a great place to base day trips to visit the surrounding area and it was very relaxing after returning from a long day. It’s also gives you privacy and peacefulness but only a short drive to Warburton for cafes and shops.

Beautiful picturesque little town.

Beautiful picturesque little town. Too busy with tourists for my liking, but I totally understand why people would come here. With the number of restaurants and cafes along the main road, there's something for everyone, and the little shops are charming. The people are welcoming and wonderful. Love this place!

We thought Autumn was the best time to be there, it is such a beautiful town. Enjoyed the quaint little shops, the Alpine Hotel, for drinks and food, and Redwood Forest, spectacular. We were there for 3 days, Enjoyed the walks along the river. We felt it was the perfect amount of time

Visited Warburton in April during autumn, and the town...

Visited Warburton in April during autumn, and the town looked beautiful with rich colours everywhere. Most shops close around 4 PM, so it’s good to plan ahead for food and drinks because after 7 PM the town becomes very quiet and peaceful. The Yarra River and walking trails are easy to access and perfect for a relaxed stroll. A lovely spot for a calm autumn visit.

We (2 fit over-60’s) really enjoyed our stay here. It’s spacious (especially for just the two of us), and the quirky arrangement of sleeping quarters in the caravan just outside the front door works just fine... and would be a plus if you are in a group with different ideas about sleep timing.. The double bed was really comfy. The main living area looks out into the tops of the trees, and the deck looks excellent for outdoor living (unfortunately we had rain / drizzle most of the time). Wood fire heats the place very well, with the portable finned radiator keeping the warmth going when there was no fire. The very large table would be great for bigger groups. Access is quite steep on the driveway slope, so no good for those with mobility issues. When first driving in, turn the left 90 degree corner at the end of the entry road before looking for the number, as there is the same number (on the wrong street) just before that, that confused us initially. Entry and exit procedures all good, and great comms with the host throughout. It has the feel of being someone’s holiday house that was created very nicely over time (which I think it is), so it’s a much more welcoming and comfortable space - with human touches and evidence of a progressing family life - than the cookie-cutter designed, sparse and empty stays I’ve experienced around the world. Currently there is no WIFI, but the mobile signals (Telstra based) though weak, were usable for the basic things. No chance of streaming movies, but reading the local community newsletter, mobile reception is a current problem in that region.

The high street is good to walk down, with a helpful information centre. Several wineries, a fabulous southern Indian restaurant called Babaji's, and the giant redwoods are worth a visit. A good stop over (for us) on the way to Melbourne.

Warburton is a lovely place.

Warburton is a lovely place. It's worth taking a walk along the river or hiring a bike from Cog Bikes and Brew Cafe to ride along the trail. We had a delicious dinner at The River View Cafe, a very satisfying lunch at 3 Sugars Cafe, and we loved the coffee and cakes at Silva Coffee Roasters. There are some beautiful little shops to browse in, and we loved checking out all the lollies from our childhood at Warburton Candy Emporium. We will be back!

It is spacious, cozy, comfortable - having been lovingly restored to reflect its history. The hosts have considered literally everything a guest could need and have accommodated.
