Casa Maruka is a recently renovated two-bedroom home in a quiet, residential part of San Ignacio. The house has two queen bedrooms, two bathrooms with hot water showers, and a futon in the living room for an extra guest. Every room including the living area has its own air conditioning unit, and the fully equipped kitchen and in-unit laundry make longer stays easy and comfortable. Outside, there's a hammock in the foyer, a shaded back veranda, and a rooftop terrace with swing chairs, a large table, and hammocks, great for meals, evening drinks, or stargazing. Parking is private and secure behind a remote-controlled gate.

The Cayo District is one of the most activity-rich areas in the country. Guests are within easy reach of ancient Maya sites including Cahal Pech, which is walkable from town, and Xunantunich, a short drive away. ATM Cave, widely considered one of the best cave experiences in Central America, is also accessible as a day trip. Cave tubing, zip-lining, and jungle hiking are all popular options nearby as well. San Ignacio itself has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that a lot of visitors comment on. It's a small town but a lively one, and it makes a great base for exploring the broader Cayo District during the day and unwinding in the evenings.
