Welcome to The Shearwater House. Perched in a quiet, upscale pocket of north Nanaimo, our home offers two spacious guest suites, each with its own private balcony and sweeping views across the Strait of Georgia. The King Suite with Ocean View is the larger of the two, with a soaring pitched ceiling, a full wall of glass framing the water, and a generous sitting area. Its ensuite is something of a showpiece — a deep oval soaking tub set beneath a bay window that looks out to forest and sea, plus a separate glass shower. The Family Junior Suite offers a bright, generous open living area layout with its own balcony, sleeping three comfortably without anyone feeling on top of anyone else — the practical choice for families who want space to land. Both suites include fresh linens and towels, a tea and coffee station, TV, fast WiFi, and free parking. Mornings here are unhurried: coffee on the balcony, ships drifting across the strait, and deer wandering through the garden more often than you'd expect. We're minutes from beach access, oceanfront parks and walking trails, with downtown Nanaimo, the harbour, and the ferry terminals a short drive away — an easy base whether you're here for whale watching, a quiet weekend, or a stop on the way up-island.
