Our house was built in 2022 on a 2.5-acre lot. It is a modern, luxury building with a beautiful view of the Foot Hills mountain. It is very private, yet it is very close to the city of Nanaimo. The bus stop is just across the driveway. It is a 5-minute drive to the Woodgrove Mall (the biggest mall on the island). There is a long straight driveway, private parking to the right side of the house, and the suite entrance is down the stairs. The suite has 1 Queen-size bed. There is a well-stocked kitchenette. While you can't cook, there is an over-airfryer so you can fry your own Fish and Chips!
Our family, which consists of me, my husband, and our son, moved in 2006 from The Netherlands to BC, Canada. I work as a nurse in a Home for people with Dementia. My husband is a retired City Bus Driver. Our son is a University Business Graduate and works in Financial Services. We like to meet people. We have always been very interested in hearing stories from people from other places/countries. We were a family host for international students for many years, which we enjoyed a lot. During holidays we love to travel, either here in BC, or to other parts of the world.
Nanaimo is close by and is the second biggest city on the island. Victoria, the capital of BC, is only a 1-hour 45-minute drive. Up to the island's north is Mount Washington, a 1-hour and 15-minute drive, a beautiful hiking or winter sports area. Costco, Superstore, and Walmart are a 5-minute drive.
