Relaxation is part of your stay: both rooms have shared use of our heated whirlpool (37 °C). For undisturbed enjoyment, simply reserve a personal time slot during which it is exclusively yours. The rooms are comfortably furnished, each with its own integrated bathroom and seating area. A desk and a cosy sitting corner suit focused work just as well as relaxing – in front of the smart TV with popular streaming services or with a good book. Remote-controlled atmospheric lighting completes your stay. As a small courtesy, on arrival you will usually find chilled drinks, coffee and tea in the fridge as well as a bowl of fruit. Two rooms with distinct characters are available: The Standard Double Room lies right by the whirlpool – directly accessible from your own seating area – and has a 1.60 m wide double bed. The Small Double Room stands out for its wonderful mountain view from its own seating area; here you reach the whirlpool via the terrace along our living area (about 25 metres). Its bed is 1.40 m wide – comfortable for a couple, but possibly a little tight for two guests wishing more space of their own. For guests travelling by bicycle (and gladly for everyone else): each seating area has a clothes drying rack, and each bathroom a small basin for hand-washing sports clothing and small items – with a small portion of detergent on request. Bicycles can also be stored securely in our lockable underground-garage room, where e-bikes can be charged too. The rooms are within our own home, yet reachable without crossing any of our privately used spaces. Both are on the first floor (one level up) and accessible by stairs or lift.

We are a host couple and decided this year to open part of our home to guests. What we enjoy about hosting is, quite simply, sharing the beauty that surrounds us every day – be it a quiet moment in the whirlpool with a view of the mountain panorama, a pause on the planted terrace, or a special spot in our immediate region known only to those at home here. It is precisely these small, unexpected discoveries that lift a stay – for us and, we hope, for our guests – beyond the expected. We share in the joy when someone returns wide-eyed from a cycling route, tells us about a view, or has found a place we recommended. We value a personal welcome. Romanshorn is an ideal base for exploring the Swiss shore of Lake Constance. The national cycle route 2 (Rhine Route) runs right through our town, accompanying the lakeshore over long stretches; several regional cycle routes branch off from here into the Thurgau and towards Appenzell. A culinary insider tip right on one of the cycle routes: The MillTower restaurant on the 8th floor of the kybun Tower in Roggwil combines Asian fusion and sushi cuisine with a 360° panoramic view over Lake Constance to the Alps (open Tuesday to Saturday, reservation recommended). For swimming we recommend the Seebad Romanshorn (with entry fee) or – free and close to nature – the Badi Holzenstein a little outside town. A special Lake Constance experience are the scheduled boats of the Swiss Lake Constance Shipping company, with connections to Friedrichshafen on the German shore and along the Swiss shore. For culturally and technically interested guests: The Saurer Museum right by the lake in Arbon shows historic commercial vehicles as well as embroidery and weaving machines from 150 years of eastern Swiss industrial history, and is open daily. For lovers of sports and racing cars, the autobau erlebniswelt in Romanshorn is a special experience (regularly on Sundays, additionally during Swiss school holidays). For provisions on the road or a fresh breakfast croissant, a Coop service-station shop and the Migros Huebzelg are about five minutes' walk away. Bus line 940 stops nearby with connections to Romanshorn and Amriswil stations; on foot you reach Romanshorn station and harbour in about 20 minutes. From Romanshorn, trains run directly to St. Gallen, Konstanz and Zürich, and boats to Friedrichshafen on the German shore. As the railway also follows the lake, you can shorten a cycling tour if needed and return comfortably to Romanshorn with your bike on the train.
