Located at 8.2 feet above sea level on the Great Saint Bernard Pass, the family-run Auberge de l’Hospice is just steps away from the Saint Bernard Dogs Foundation and directly opposite the Hospice of Saint Bernard. The restaurant serves Swiss specialties such as fondue, as well as creative dishes made from traditional local foods, along with a wide range of local wines. The Auberge also offers a shop where you can buy souvenirs of the St. Bernard Pass and the St. Bernard dogs, Swiss chocolate, and a wide range of handicrafts, food and beverages produced in European monasteries. Free parking is available on site. The St. Bernard Pass is located on the Via Francigena pilgrim road. The Col du St-Bernard Bus Stop is right outside the Auberge, providing connections to Martigny in Switzerland and to Aosta in Italy. The Swiss-Italian border is just 656 feet away. The Auberge de l'Hospice is only open from June to mid-October.
