Nicknamed the "Balcony to the Alps", Markdorf is a romantic southern German town nestled on the south side of the "Gehrenberg" mountain. Facing the Swiss and Austrian Alps and the Lake of Constance, Markdorf is in the middle of an award winning wine region that offers spectacular sightseeing spots and many possibilities for outdoors activities. Our guests can expect a brand-new, contained apartment, with bathroom and terrace. Our domicile is warm and cozy, very quiet and complete with amenities for tourists and business people, alike. Amenities include a kitchen complete with refrigerator, stove, sink, coffee maker, and microwave oven. The brand-new bathroom offers a single large sink and shower. The main room is furnished with a dining table and chairs, a comfortable bed, large flat-screen TV with integrated radio, and 2 armchairs. A special feature is the private terrace complete with table and chairs, gas-grill and garden access and lounging furniture. Travelers should note that we have a small Jack Russell Terrier. Rusty is a well-trained, very quiet dog with excellent manners.

I teach English and German as foreign languages; as well as applied linguistics and communication skills. For the past 5 years we have offered language learning homestay style courses which was the first step towards offering a room to travelers. We love having people come and stay with us as we learn so much about the world. We love to travel and we have seen quite a bit of the world. My hobby is photography, especially during our travels. I can't live without movies, good food, wine and good conversation. I also love walking with my little dog Rusty, a very well-behaved Jack Russell Terrier. Guests who come to stay with us will enjoy the peace and beauty of our region. For us it is important that our guests feel at home. If you like time alone that is fine. Or maybe you would like good conversation over a beer or bottle of wine - we love to do that. Or maybe you would like to join in on our hikes with Rusty? Or perhaps you would like a guided tour of the area? These are all things we love to do.

We live in a lovely neighborhood that is quiet, friendly and clean. Since we are on the side of the Gehrenberg Mountain we have a gorgeous view to the Alps and Lake Constance. In addition, we are central to all the wonderful sights in the area. You will love it!
