It's fantastic to either sit on the balcony looking down on the square, watching parrots flying and nest building or sitting in the square amongst the palm and orange trees. Apart from the balcony, there is a large roof terrace that has fantastic views of the Cádiz. The apartment is the reason I am living here in Cádiz - I saw it for sale and it captured my heart. Please note this is a shared apartment. My room/bathroom is separate from the guests' rooms and bathroom. My home is very light and the guest bedrooms are comfy. I have very good bedlinen (and iron the sheets!) My furniture is eclectic and welcoming and many guests have complimented me on it. I ensure all shared spaces are kept extremely clean, tidy and accessible to all. Fully equipped guest bathroom with bidet (shower, not bath). Fully equipped kitchen, which is a pleasure to cook in and is available for guests to use. I have a welcome basket of goodies in the room. I always have fresh flowers in the house.
I hope you feel "at home" in my house. I really love hosting guests, which I've been doing for 10 years. I have been a Superhost on Airbnb consistently during this time, with a lot of wonderful feedback. I am sensitive to guests' needs and am equally happy being discreet or interacting, as they wish. I have various guests who return every year. I have good local knowledge and am fluent in Spanish (despite not being a Native!). I'm happy to suggest ideas to help people make the most of their visit to this beautiful city, as well as further away places along the coast or inland, including car hire help, transport suggestions and, of course, where to find the best food! I love cooking and am passionate about health, wellbeing and nutrition (oh, and Spain itself and it's culture, of course!) Looking forward to meeting you! I am very happy to chat, either in English or Spanish, if you would like to practice your language. (I have been teaching Spanish for 15 years and English for the last 5 years.) I can also offer recommendations, if required.
My apartment is right in the centre of the old town, moments from the Cathedral and a few minutes from the Central Market, which is a great place to eat tapas, as well as buy fresh fish and other produce. Everything is within easy walking distance - the closest beach is 10 minutes away, as are the train and bus stations. In around 15 minutes, you arrive at the beginning of 8km of beaches, which are great for surfers. Phoenician and Roman ruins, museums, monuments, towers and lots of bars and restaurants are all to hand. (My house is 1/2 a minute away from one of the best restaurants in Cádiz!) If you visit during Carnaval or Semana Santa, my house is in the perfect location. You are in the middle of everything, but can observe from the privacy of the balcony as well, if you prefer. Everyone loves the atmosphere!
