We are Maeva, François, and our two boys, Sam and Tom. After several years living in Paris, we decided to leave the city behind to make a lifelong dream come true: opening our own guest house in the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. When we discovered this house in Le Vivier-sur-Mer in the summer of 2022, we immediately felt that a new life could begin here. A slower, simpler life, closer to nature and people. At Parenthèse, we welcome our guests the way we personally love to be welcomed ourselves: with warmth, care and simplicity. Here, we take time. Time to chat over breakfast, share our favourite local spots, or simply slow down and breathe a little. We will be delighted to help you discover the region and make the most of your stay in the Bay. Parenthèse is located in the heart of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, in the peaceful village of Le Vivier-sur-Mer, less than 30 minutes from the region’s most beautiful sites: Saint-Malo, Cancale, Dinan and Mont Saint-Michel. The house is ideally located for exploring the Bay on foot or by bike. The Vélomaritime cycling route and the GR34 hiking trail are only 300 metres away. People come here both to explore and to slow down. You can admire the famous tides, discover the port of Le Vivier-sur-Mer known for its AOP bouchot mussels, enjoy local food and walk through the ever-changing landscapes of the Bay. Breakfast is served every morning between 8:30 am and 9:30 am around the large shared table. We offer a generous breakfast made mostly with local and homemade products: farm yoghurts, fresh bread, jams, homemade cakes or waffles, fresh fruit, cereals, butter and chocolate spread. Croissants or brioche are also served on some mornings 😊 Drinks include coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk and local apple juice. A shared kitchenette is available if you would like to have dinner at the house after a day exploring the area. You will find a mini fridge, a combination microwave oven and tableware. To preserve the calm atmosphere of the house, the kitchenette can be used until 9 pm and meals are not allowed in the bedrooms. Herbal teas are available throughout the day, as well as a coffee machine using environmentally friendly capsules with no plastic or aluminium. Free public parking is available 60 metres from the house. No space in our courtyard ! Our courtyard is only used for unloading luggage upon arrival. We look forward to welcoming you to Parenthèse.

Le Vivier-sur-Mer is a peaceful little village in the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, shaped by the rhythm of the tides and the sea. You will find everything you need within walking distance: a bakery, a small grocery shop, seasonal restaurants, a bar and local markets depending on the time of year. Here, the landscape is constantly changing. At low tide, the sea can retreat up to 13 kilometres from the shore, revealing the vast open bay. If you would like to enjoy beaches and swimming, Cancale, Saint-Coulomb, Saint-Malo and Dinard are all easily accessible by car. Le Vivier-sur-Mer is above all the perfect starting point to discover the Bay differently: more slowly, more peacefully, and closer to nature.
