Lovely stay in the perfect location to explore Rye. The house is full of character and spotlessly clean. The owner was also friendly and gave great recommendations for eating out.

Everything that most people would require for short stays. The property was well located and central. It had all amenities and was immaculately clean & smelling good. Small hospital attention to detail.

The location was amazing. Shops, pubs and restaurants right outside the door and everything within a short walk. The property itself was also full of character. And felt quiet and relaxed inside. Brenda was a great host. Greeted us on arrival...

Excellent location (central and convenient but not noisy), very clean and really nicely finished. The place has real character, and was a perfect base for us for a weekend away.

The Tea House is a very old building, constructed around 1500 (+- 25). It is in a historic area of the citadel of Rye. All of the rooms are heavily beamed, the stairs are narrow and steep and some doorways are very low. It is full of character and quirkiness (but please note therefore that It isn't suitable for people who have any breathing, mobility or visual difficulties).
My aim is to offer you a friendly welcome break in a lovely old historic house. I will always do my best to ensure that you have a relaxed and comfortable stay here at The Tea House. I hope that you will feel at home and welcomed and use the Tea House as a base from which to explore the lovely old town of Rye and the glorious English countryside and sandy beaches nearby.
The Tea House is right in the centre of town and all shops, cafes and restaurants are on the doorstep and within a few minutes walk. There are many lovely places to eat and also art galleries, a music shop, many antique shops and other independent ‘not in the high street’ shops. There is a wonderful digital cinema. Rye is very accessible for the coast and beaches such as Camber Sands and also offers beautiful country walks, nature reserves and many other places of natural and historical interest. The town is on a hill and has plenty of cobbles streets which dont always make for easy walking but are charming and reminiscent of a bygone era.
