We are a small local holiday let company that has lived in the area for over twenty years. We love where we live and we can be found, cycling, running or walking along the lovely beaches that dot our coast, enjoying the quiet lanes on our bicycles or running on the trails. We love supporting local events and can share our local secrets if looking for something different, to enjoying local one day courses with local artists, birdwatching trips at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, or wine tasting at one of the many vineyards that are located in the 1066 area. We aim to offer a truly personal service to make your stay at one of our holiday cottages as relaxing as we possibly can. Any queries or issues you may have during your stay, we are here to help. 4 Landgate Cottage has stunning views across the marsh towards Rye in the pretty town of Winchelsea. The cottage shares the same elevated views as one of the historic stone gates that once guarded the town of Winchelsea against sea attacks. Enter the cottage from the rear, into the hallway, to the left is a separate WC cloakroom and a family bathroom with a hand basin, bath with overhead shower and separate handheld shower, shower screen, towel rail, shaver point and WC. The cottage opens out into a modern, fully equipped kitchen and dining area, with everything you could wish for when self-catering. The lounge is cosy and welcoming and a lovely space for watching TV or sitting quietly with a book. Stairs lead up to the 2 double bedrooms, which can be configured as twin rooms if you prefer. Both bedrooms have a washbasin and shaver point, dressing tables and wardrobes with drawers. Please note we do not supply travel cots or stair gates at the cottage. There is a decked garden. Pets: One small, well-behaved dog is accepted on request, subject to a small additional fee. Important: The property is located on a main road. Dog owners should exercise particular care and keep dogs on a lead at all times when entering and exiting the property. The garden is enclosed with gates, however it may not be fully secure for very small dogs, and dogs must not be left unattended in the garden. Dogs are restricted to the ground floor and are not permitted in the bedrooms. Please ensure you clean up after your pet. We recommend contacting us with any questions prior to booking. The cottage sits on the edge of a road so care is needed when entering and departing and children supervised at all times.

Winchelsea is a pretty medieval town with chocolate box cottages and stunning countryside. The village has a local store which serves takeaway coffee and local produce, a pub and the local church. The churchyard is the last resting place of comedian Spike Milligan. There are beautiful 1066 trails only minutes from the property and lovely challenging cycle routes for those bringing bikes. Rye is only 2.5 miles away with a great selection of independent restaurants, cafes and take away outlets.
