At James' Places we like to offer you individually styled accommodation that is unique and a bit quirky. The property is located within the town of Merthyr Tydfil so is in a town setting but within a minutes drive of The Brecon Beacons, Pen Y Fan, Bike Park Wales, The Four Water Falls and Zip World. This gives you the benefit of being next door to the countryside but all close to the shops, restaurants and pubs. Enjoying your stay is our main priority so we send out a list of suggested things to do and our favourite places to eat to help you make the most of your time with us with the confidence that these activities and places to eat have our seal of approval. We love our dogs so we are delighted to welcome them to. We are a family run business and have been operating since 2016 and have 4 houses and 14 studios at different locations around Merthyr Tydfil. We have a loyal team who have been with us since the beginning and their priority is also to make you happy.

43 BBEscapes is a charming terraced miners’ cottage designed to comfortably accommodate six guests. It features two double bedrooms and a single room with adult bunk beds, making it perfect for family holidays, work trips, or leisure stays. The property is thoughtfully equipped to cater to both relaxation and practicality. We are pleased to be dog-friendly, welcoming pets for a fee of 22 GBP per dog per stay, and the cottage is also suitable for children. In the garden, guests can enjoy a private hot tub available for an additional 49 GBP per stay, which covers setup and electricity. The outdoor space is enhanced with a pergola sheltering the hot tub and charming festoon lighting, creating a cosy atmosphere for evening relaxation. There is also an outdoor dining area, ideal for al fresco meals. Inside, the ground floor features a spacious lounge/diner with a contemporary eclectic style, including stylish lighting, quirky ornaments, and artwork. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, washing machine, kettle, toaster, and all essential crockery, cutlery, utensils, and cookware for easy self-catering. The lounge area offers leather sofas and a wooden dining table seating six, complemented by free Wi-Fi and an internet-connected television for entertainment. Guests are provided with high-quality linen, soft fluffy towels, and complimentary toiletries. To help settle in, we also offer a pint of milk and homemade Welsh cakes. For bike storage, guests can utilise the hall space as long as bikes are clean. We strive to ensure your stay is comfortable, convenient, and memorable from start to finish.

43 BBEscapes is located on a quite terraced street in Merthyr Tydfil. Merthyr Tydfil is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. We are approximately a 10 min drive from Pen-y-fan, the highest point in South Wales and many of our guests come to walk in the Brecon Beacons including Waterfall country. We are also only a 5 min drive from the world famous Bike Park Wales and 2 mins from the Town Centre.
