Beautiful, sparkling clean hotel! The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was incredible. The hotel is off a very busy street, so it was a little noisy, but we knew that going in and had earplugs with us, and it wasn’t an issue at all.

Staff were lovely and welcoming, I mentioned I was in town for a funeral and the receptionist very kindly suggested some nice sights to see in Cardiff if I needed cheering up and made me aware that the staff were trained in mental health first aid in case I was in need of any support during my stay. Location could not have been better. I was pleasantly surprised considering how reasonable the price of the room was; single room was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Hotel was quiet despite being right in the centre of the city and the breakfast was great with cooked and continental options and great coffee.

My stay at this hotel was fantastic! The view of the castle from my room was stunning, and the location couldn't be better - close to shops and food options. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were great. They also offer paid parking, which is convenient. Highly recommended!

Staff was very professional in a very friendly way, breakfast was excellent, rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Location is perfect.. I could not fault them for one thing and I would recommend this place to everyone..

It was a very large room with 3 single beds for 3 persons. Room was spacious, clean, telly was working, they allowed us to exceptionally late check-in at 1:30 am. 24/7 reception was available, and the reception guy was very nice and welcoming. Overall 10/10 experience and value to money.

Everything was great. I received my self check in details a day before which were super easy. The hosts were always available for any questions. The room was cleaned everyday and the staff was great. I had initially been given a room on the 2nd floor but I requested a change as I had a bigger suitcase and I was accommodated immediately. Loved everything about the place. Would definitely be staying again.

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was so bright and comfortable, and it’s a close walking distance to the park and the city center. It was nice to have the coffee and tea waiting in the room.

The room and bed were very comfortable, and I really appreciated the tea and coffee amenities, as it was so cold. The shower was so nice and hot and the sheets were clean. The breakfast was plentiful and the staff very accommodating

The bed was very comfy. The property was right on Queen Street, so lots of shopping and coffee houses. The arcades has restaurants. The castle was very close.

Wow, where to begin with this one. Firstly the hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, even from the outside. If you truly want an actual experience then make sure to book your stay at the Coal Exchange. We were warmly welcomed and hosted by the lovely staff, the one gentleman in particular at reception, for the life of me i cant remember his name and who am I kidding, I am terrible with names, but his hospitality was forever memorable. He showed us around, printed hotel info and photos of the hotel back in the day, as this a very old hotel that was once a trade and sell of coal, as you can imagine it has ALOT of history to it. Our rooms were huge and oh so beautiful. The food was incredible and the restaurant used to be the bank vault of some sort, still with original architecture. There is a beauty to the spookiness, something that made us want to wonder into every room. We would for sure go back as this place stood out to me more than the town did. Thank you Coal Exchange team.

Very good value and will definitely return. It was clean, friendly staff, great location. Wish we could stay longer as rooms were very comfortable.

Room is big and clean with a really good view. Good location as it located in the middle of city center and the bay and close to train station. Breakfast time is starting from 7am-11am. Check out time is perfect at 11am.

The room was exceptionally clean, I had a great window view. Easy access in and out, the building is very secure.
