Welcome to ‘A Barn’ at South Downs Stay; a luxury modern country retreat nestled within the South Downs National Park, a short drive from Arundel, Chichester & Goodwood. This room offers a super-king size bed overlooking breathtaking views of the South Downs and River Arun Valley, and has an open plan bathroom with an extra-large roll top bath as well as a separate shower. Come and snooze in style in the South Downs National Park at A Barn.
We are local farmers and this barn has been in our family for 8 generations since 1700's. We have worked in hospitality across the last 20 years running Bed and Breakfasts. We love welcoming people to this recently converted barn and seeing everyone enjoy the gorgeous South Downs National Park as much as we do. We are in a designated International Dark Sky Reserve so gazing up at a vast sky sparkling with stars is irresistible. Celebrate the seasons with birdsong and abundant wildlife in a natural environment. It is exceptional!
In the heart of West Sussex, A Barn at South Downs Stay is in the perfect location for everything you could wish for. There are footpaths in every direction for avid walkers and cyclists, including the famous South Downs Way and Monarchs Way. If a day at the horseracing takes your fancy we have Goodwood Racecourse and Fontwell Racecourse a short drive or taxi away, as well as the magnificent yearly events of Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. We have plenty of interesting sights nearby to see too - like Amberley’s quaint village with it’s very own Castle, the golden beaches of West Wittering near to Chichester, and the quirky lanes of Brighton.  And if taking a boat down the River Arun takes your fancy, follow that with afternoon tea or even drive to historic Arundel and see Arundel Castle for the day.
