Apple Cottage, named after its garden, which is full of Apple trees, is located in the Distillery village of Bladnoch, situated in the heart of the Wigtownshire Machars.

Bladnoch is famed for having the southmost distillery in Scotland. An absolute necessity for any whisky lover to visit. The distillery has a visitor centre, shop and cafe. We also have the Bladnoch Inn for food and drink, which is at the end of the village next to the Bladnoch Bridge. Local amenities can be found in Wigtown which is walking distance from the cottage or either a short bus or car trip away. Wigtown is famous for its bookshops and annual book festival in September. Nearby there is the Crook of Baldoon RSPB Nature reserve, Baldoon RAF Airport (disused) with lots of WW2 pill boxes and buildings hidden away. Torrhouse Standing Stones, Whithorn Priory, St. Ninian’s Cave, Kirroughtree Seven Stanes Mountainbiking and Wigtown Martyrs Stake, to name but a few places of interest.
