Absolutely stunning property. So clean, well equipped, comfortable and well located. Extremely lovely hosts, who were very patient when my check in time was so uncertain. They even provided local info and scones on arrival!

Bakers Cottage offers the chance to stay in a very comfortable, delightfully furnished, well equipped and freshly refurbished traditional Norfolk thatched cottage in the centre of Ludham, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. On street parking in front of the cottage and electric vehicle charging 7kW available at the owners' main residence a short distance away in Potter Heigham. The cottage boasts original features such as beams and a cast iron fireplace (nolonger in use). Enter via the lounge-diner: terracotta tiled floor, rug, 42" screen TV with freeview, sofa, art on the walls and drop leaf dining table and chairs for two. In the kitchen there's a hob, fan oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The ensuite bedroom looks out onto the village green. More art on the walls, comfortable double bed, bedside cupboard, dressing table with mirror and stool, wall mounted TV and full length mirror. The south facing garden (with bistro table and chairs) is fully decked and totally private. Finally, bed linen, bath, hand and tea towels, washing up liquid, tea bags, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, laundry tabs, fabric softener, iron and board, shower gel and scrunchie all provided. ENJOY!
I was born and bred in the beautiful city of Norwich nearby and was a Civil Servant most of my working life until I packed it in a couple of years ago. I live with Michael and our rescue dog Cash. As well as letting Bakers Cottage, Why do we love living in the heart of the Norfolk Broads? It has to be the gentle pace of life, the vast skies, the endless photo opportunities, the numerous country walks, the marshes - habitat for an abundance of wildlife including Swallowtail butterflies, Skylarks, Lapwings, Marsh Harriers - the wind pumps, the 15 miles of fine sandy beaches, the friendly people and of course, the rivers and the Broads themselves! Oh and you might be interested to hear that much of eastern England receives less than 700mm of rain per year and includes some of the driest areas in the country? This is due to the fact that weather systems generally travel across the country from a westerly direction, so most of the rain has fallen by the time it gets to Norfolk... However, no-one can guarantee the weather so we provide our guests with a couple of umbrellas, just in case!
If, like us, you love being on the water, the following unique boating opportunities are right on your doorstep. However, due to their popularity will probably need booking ahead... Norfolk sailing wherry the Albion is available for day charters from May until the end of September. A qualified and experienced skipper and mate sail the boat, but passengers are encouraged to participate as assistants to the crew. However, if you just want to sit on the deck and watch the Broads go by, that's fine too. Most charters start and end at the Norfolk Wherry Trust's Ludham base. Also based in Ludham is HUNTER'S YARD which is situated in its own dyke off Womack Water. The 'Hunter Experience' is a two-hour sail with an experienced skipper and is your chance to ‘have a go’ on a vintage vessel for two hours in the safe hands of an experienced skipper on the Norfolk Broads. Call them to check availability or make a booking. Ludham boasts a family run carvery pub, a mini mart deli, butchers and a doctors surgery all very nearby. As well as rivers and broads, your nearest beaches are just a short drive or cycle ride away, less than 10 LEVEL miles!
