Information correct at the time of writing Winterborne Kingston is a pretty village which lies 7 miles south of the town of Blandford Forum and 2 miles north-east of Bere Regis. It is situated in the Winterbourne valley on the edge of the dip slope of the Dorset Downs. There are numerous quaint villages all around including Winterborne Whitechurch, Milton Abbas, Milborne St Andrew, and Dewlish, and it's only 14 miles from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site where you will find some breath-taking scenery, beautiful beaches and fantastic walks. The Greyhound pub is just a short stroll away from Barn at West Acres and there are pubs, restaurants and shops in Blandford Forum. Enjoy a day trip to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, where you will have much to enjoy for a memorable holiday. The county town of Dorchester is approx a 20 minute drive away with its large selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and two cinemas - National Trust properties nearby include Max Gate, Hardy's Cottage and Clouds Hill. Enjoy some great family time at Monkey World or the Tank Museum at Bovington with its thrilling live displays. The Isle of Purbeck, with Corfe Castle, Stoborough Heath, Studland and Swanage is perfect for a family day out. The Swanage Railway offers a heritage steam and diesel timetable train service on this beautifully preserved railway, and is well worth a visit. Popular Poole with its harbour, opportunities for boat trips and the ferry to Brownsea Island is recommended for a day out.
