Welcome to Barrhill Holiday Park – ten luxury glamping pods with private hot tubs tucked away in the peaceful Ayrshire (South Ayrshire) countryside, right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park.
Here you can fall asleep under the Milky Way in our panoramic Stargazer Pods, soak in your own bubbling hot tub on a private deck, and wake up to birdsong and rolling hills. Each pod has its own fire pit (logs sold separately), outdoor seating, and total privacy – perfect for couples, small families, or a quiet escape with the dog (we’re very dog-friendly).
Just 20 minutes from Girvan’s beaches, 25 minutes from the Galloway Dark Sky Park ranger centre, and a short drive to Culzean Castle, Turnberry golf, and the 7 Stanes trails.
We keep things simple and relaxed: bring your own bedding and towels, enjoy lower prices, and spend more time in the hot tub instead of waiting for check-in queues. Real glamping, real stars, real value.

Hi, we’re Laura and Philip – the husband-and-wife team who own and run Barrhill Holiday Park. We’ve took over this peaceful spot in 2017 because we wanted to share the incredible dark skies, the quiet countryside, and the joy of a private hot tub with as many people as possible.
We do everything ourselves: we built the decks, plumbed the hot tubs, planted the trees, and still personally check every pod is perfect before you arrive. No big staff, no reception desk – just us, a warm welcome, and usually a kettle on the go.
We love meeting guests (and their dogs – we’re very dog-friendly!), pointing out the Milky Way on clear nights, and making sure you leave more relaxed than when you arrived.
When you stay with us you’re supporting a genuine family business, not a corporation. We can’t wait to welcome you to our little piece of Scotland – come switch off, look up, and let the stars do the rest.

Barrhill Holiday Park sits in quiet South Ayrshire countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, sheep fields, and almost zero light pollution – we’re near the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park (one of the best stargazing spots in Europe).
Within 15–45 minutes’ drive you’ll find:
- Girvan’s long sandy beach & harbour (fish & chips on the promenade!)
- The Galloway Forest Park ranger centre & famous Red Deer Range
- Culzean Castle & Country Park (stunning clifftop castle & gardens)
- Turnberry golf course & coastal walk
- Electric Brae (the “gravity hill” – kids love it)
- 7 Stanes mountain bike trails (Glentrool & Kirroughtree)
Ayr, Prestwick Airport & the ferry to Arran are under an hour away. Shops, supermarkets & petrol are 20 minutes in Girvan.
It’s proper peaceful here – you’ll hear owls at night and maybe a distant tractor by day – but everything you need for a Scottish adventure is right on the doorstep. Perfect for stargazing, beach days, castle visits, cycling, or just hiding away in your hot tub with no one around.
