Such a lovely property. From the views to the grounds. We stayed in one of the newer rooms which were tastefully appointed with gorgeous views of the garden and the stream. The common areas have clearly been thoughtfully curated to provide a niche vibe for a variety of sizes of groups. Though I have no reason to go back to the area anytime soon, I would reroute just to stay there again.

We had a great stay at Fairfield House Hotel. Our room was huge, immaculately clean and included a lovely roll top bath. The bed was comfortable and we both had a good night's sleep. To top things off we had a beautiful sea view to sit and admire. The restaurant had a varied menu some offers a lovely atmosphere and great service. Or evening meal and breakfast were both 10/10. Having leisure facilities was a nice little bonus to start our day. Staff were available helpful and friendly. We would definitely return and recommend others to visit. Note that the property doesn't have a lift so request a room on the ground floor if required if possible.

This B&B was the nicest room we’ve had in our 15 days in Scotland. The hosts are lovely people and the townhouse is amazing. They served an excellent breakfast with many great choices. The room was very elegantly attired and very large and comfortable.

We left this area in the 70's when Ayr was a vibrant bustling town with good shops and was the cultural hub for the area. The years and the industrial decline have not been kind to the town, It is still pleasant enough and the Ayrshire coast is still magnificent. The many historical sites and the many golf courses still make it a great place to visit.

As a holiday town Ayr has good road access with plenty of pubs and restaurants to suit everyone's taste. There are a number of golf courses within easy reach, a Racecourse (when open) and a huge sandy beach right next to a large grassy area and children's play area. As a family resort it is excellent. If you are a little older, then the long promenade has plenty of flat walking and for those who are interested Rabbie Burns one time home is not too far away either.

We loved our BnB Beaches.

We loved our BnB Beaches. It was round the corner from the stunning beach and we had excellent coffee from Beastie Brews both mornings. We had a great hour in the Golden Disc Fun Centre- the bowling was so good. We also thought the Lost World crazy golf was better than most! Growlers was great for beer and Harley’s was fun for playing pool. Smiths beer garden was good too. But the beach is the best part!!!

Although there are many closed businesses in Ayr, there are moves afoot to begin to rectify the the situation. There is plenty to do and wonderful scenary all around. The promenade and beach are lovely. There are are many excellent restaurants, Sunday lunch at the Fox and Willow is an experience!. Glasgow and Edinburgh, even Carlisle are easily accessible and ferry trips to many places in the Highlands are close by.

We discovered an mazing place of fish and chips near the beach, people in cars were buying it and eating while seated in their cars looking into the sea. Ayr of itself has some sightseeing places, Catholic Cathedral Mass is amazing thanks to the organ music, lovely shops, tasty coffee in some exceptional places. I was very surprised by the town.

We were visiting a friend who lives in the area and we were advised that Prestwick was better for shopping, as more local shops than Ayr. Our friend met us at Prestwick Train Station and drove us around the area during the weekend. We did go to the coffee shop in M&S in Ayr when we first arrived. We went to The Red Lion for an evening meal in Prestwick which was delicious. Visited Culzean Castle and Dumfries House.

Good location in Ayr. Handy for the beach and town centre. Pleasantly surprised to see Mahou availble on draught at the bar. Breakfast was good. We stayed in a superior double room which comprised off the main bedroom area, with a second room off of it, with 2 additional beds, which was good because it meant my wife and I could stay up a bit later and watch TV, whilst my infant son went to bed - hotel provide a cot for use at no additional charge.
