Take a short drive through the picturesque valley of Wharfedale, with dry stone walls and hay barns, to the bustling small market town of Grassington with its cobbled market square and many independent shops and eateries including The Hedgerow to have a cup of Yorkshire Tea around a log burner, a good starting place for many walks including the picturesque Linton Falls. Head a little further you will find Stump Cross Caverns magical underground caves and The Coldstone's Cut Yorkshire's biggest and highest public artwork, a massive construction to be explored and offers spectacular views of Nidderdale, overlooking the huge working Coldstone's Quarry. 30 minutes south the popular market town of Skipton, with markets the southern gateway to the dales, is a busy market town where you will find award winning Bizzie Lizzie's fish and chips, the impressive Skipton Castle standing proud at the top of the high street, or book a trip on the Skipton Canal to see the gorgeous scenery from a different angle. Around 40 minute drive away you will find Malham, stunning dramatic scenery of Malham Cove a curving cliff of limestone, take the 400 steps to the top to marvel at the view and walk a little further to Malham tarn a designated nature reserve or visit the the nearby woodland fairytale setting of Janet's Foss waterfall a popular place for a wild swimming dip.
