The historic Betws Bach Farmhouse full of Old world charm and architectural interest, dating back to 1675. Quality 5 STAR accommodation verified by Visit Wales. Accommodation for up to 7 people (+ 1 extra person, with the provision of a quality folding bed on request). Sitting Room with beamed ceiling, original inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove, digital TV, DVD and radio/CD player. Mostly antique furniture, ornaments and prints. Comfortable seating. Kitchen and Dining Room with stone flagged floor, stylish Oak panelled units and granite worktops. Snooker Room ẁith a three quarter size heavy slate based table. Reached up three stone steps, this room is full of character with a wealth of exposed beams, inglenook with a multi-fuel stove (not in use), T.V , comfortable seating, a charming Grandfather clock and a door opening onto a paved South facing patio with a large wooden picnic table. Grounds Large but not enclosed informal lawned garden with trees and shrubs. Grand views of the mountains including Snowdon and the National Park. Rotary clothes line. Two paved patio areas. Things to do in and around Criccieth We are Ideal for Walking Holidays in Snowdonia and the Perfect Cycling Holiday Accommodation in Wales - with Y Lon Goed walk on our doorstep. Criccieth is a pleasant, unspoilt seaside town and is ideal for year round holidays, and enjoys very mild climate of the Gulf Stream. Our Winters are mild and Spring and early Summer are very warm, providing an excellent time for early and off-season short breaks. In 2006 Criccieth beach won The Blue Flag Award and The Seaside Award for the high standard of cleanliness, facilities and water qualities. Eating Out in North Wales Two and a half miles away from Rhos Cottages there is The Goat Inn which serve excellent meals and also an Indian Restaurant. At Criccieth, 4 ½ miles away there is a vast choice of restaurants, the Poachers Restaurant and Meolfryn with bistros and cafes most being open all year. Local Shopping in North Wales At Porthmadog there are Aldi, Lidl and Tesco stores; at Pwllheli an Asda and at Caernarfon a Morrissons as well as a good choice of small family run butchers and traditional bakeries at Criccieth. Other Activities and Things to do in Criccieth, Snowdonia, and North Wales Criccieth Golf Course is a mile north of the town and has unrivalled views of the Cardigan Bay and the mountains beyond. Criccieth Castle dating from the reign of Llywelyn the Great (1200 – 1240) stands on a hill above the sea overlooking the bay towards Harlech. At the entrance to the Castle there is an exhibition entitled ‘Castles of the Welsh Princes’. Criccieth has a choice of excellent restaurants, cafés and bistros; and is also the home of the world famous award winning ‘Cadwaladers Ice Cream’ LLlanystymdwy is 2.5 miles away and is renowned as the “Lloyd George” village where you’ll find a Museum on the history and life of this great man.
