Charlestown is the last open 18th Century Georgian harbour in the UK and is proud to be a UNESCO world heritage site. When you enter Charlestown Harbour you are transported back in time. The Harbour has a unique history and geography and remains a vibrant working port, with classic tall ships, beautiful beaches and great places to eat and drink whilst enjoying the breath-taking views. The Harbour’s UNESCO listing is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. The Harbour has a long history of filming with productions including Poldark, Dr Who, The Three Musketeers , Taboo, The Personal History of David Copperfield as well as BAFTA award-winning BAIT and The Eagle has landed. There are two stunning beaches within 5 minutes walk from your door, as well as the harbour. This is a perfect setting to enjoy swimming, rockpooling, dog walking, sunbathing, watersports and simply relaxing. This beachfront location has easy access to Coastal footpaths and other beaches nearby, where you can hire canoe’s and paddle boards, there are also boat trips to mevagissey and Fowey from the harbour. There are pop up restaurants on the harbour with alfresco dinning on the water edge, fantastic local freshly cooked seafood from Charlestown Fish Co, you can also get bbq, pizzas ect from other vendors.The pier house hotel has a wonderful terrace overlooking the sea and harbour. Newquay airport 30 min drive,train 5 mins,supermarket 5mins There are several very good pubs and restaurants, within a 5 minute walk . There is a superb fish van in the harbour serving the most wonderful local fish dishes from fish and chips to scallop , salads, tempura prawns , calamari, fish curries, moules frites, crab etc, you can sit on the waters edge looking out to sea or have a take away. Tesco, Asda ,lidyls and Aldi all within 5 minutes drive

Charlestown is a sleepy village , with two beaches just a 5 minute walk from your door . The UNESCO world heritage harbour is a stone throw away, Charlestown is a little foodie hub with lots of pop up food venues along the inner harbour. You can get a boat to Fowey or Mevagissey from the harbour, there are also several restaurants and The Rashleigh Arms pub and the Harbourside Inn are a 5 minute walk. The scenery is outstanding and there are beautiful cliff walks too. You are about 4 miles from the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Helligan. Asda and Tesco are 3 minutes away too. This is the perfect spot to explore Cornwall as it’s very central , so the furthest place to visit would be only 50 mins. Charlestown is famous for films that have been made here Poldark , Taboo, Alice in wonderland & The eagle has landed to name a few. Everyone falls in love with Charlestown as it is so quaint and beautiful, during the summer months there is music and alfresco dining on the water’s edge.
