Castle Nook is a beautiful spacious first floor apartment with 3.5 meter high ceilings plenty of opening double glazed windows making it a very light airy place to enjoy. Castle Nook was built in 1894 Disposition by Sir Henry John Innes Ker, Baronet, Eighth Duke of Roxburghe in favour of a Mr William Dickinson. The exterior has some fantastic features including turreted bay windows with sandstone dental detailing. The interior has possibly undergone subtle changes over the past 120 year but it certainly maintains quirky room shapes which makes it so very unique. You enter the property from East Bowmont Street via its own private entrance door and staircase. We have three bedrooms all with king size beds. There’s a large master bedroom and a smaller bedroom on the first floor both of which have access to the apartments main toilet-shower room. The third en-suite bedroom has been created in the apartments existing loft rooms. The loft space is accessed by a stunning specially commissioned bespoke space saving staircase. We have a fantastic kitchen-dining area and a beautiful separate living room with views towards Shedden park.

After the success of the holiday apartment we own at Barclay house which is just off the square on Woodmarket we knew we had to find another equally stunning building which we could convert along with our son Jack and occasionally our daughter Scarlett we have gutted and restored this apartment and loved every moment doing it. And although completely different to Barclay house in its styling Castle Nook will always be presented with the same eye for detail and cleanliness which has become the stand out comment in our exemplary feed back at Barclay house. Living just along the road from both properties I like to think we can give guests the reassuring feel that we are here for them if they need us and nothing is a problem to best help them with their break, but never wanting to be overbearing I’m just a phone call away but as we have a key box entry system, the apartment is theirs for the duration of their stay and to be enjoyed as if it was their own.
