Two couples stayed for a night here and had a very comfortable pleasant stay. Clean comfortable bedrooms with ensuite. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Food in restuarant was very good all in the company had a different dish and all enjoyed their meal. A car is reccomended to explore the surrounding area as the inn is in a small village.

We were only there 1 night, but has dinner and breakfast. Both meals were the best. Our family rank the meals, rooms, restrooms and staff. The meals at the Allanton stayed at the top of our list the whole trip. If you are looking to get away in a nice cozy atmosphere with service and food. Allanton is the place for you.

The Eyesleepover is what it is. It's not fancy, but it is a great value. Most importantly, it is very clean and well-maintained. Our host was very warm and welcoming. We were three minutes from Eyemouth harbor, with all its restaurants, shops, and beautiful beach. I highly recommend this hotel for its value, cleanliness, and location.

Kelso is a charming town, beautifully situated at the confluence of the River Tweed and the River Teviot. We had two very good walks, one along the Teviot, starting and finishing at the hotel, and the other along the Tweed, starting and finishing at St Boswells and visiting Dryburgh Abbey. We also enjoyed a visit to Floors Castle gardens. The walk from the hotel to Sainsburys was pleasant, being partly through a park. We found two good chip shops near the hotel for two of our three evening meals, and enjoyed the third meal in the hotel.

Jedburgh was our third stop walking The St. Cuthbert's Way. We arrived too late to visit the abbey after a long day's walk. We needed to leave promptly the next morning for another long day. A bit more time to explore Jedburgh would have been good but we could not justify a whole day stop. It is easy to get around. We ate at Belter's Bar, which was very good.

If visiting the Great Scottish Tapestry ( stunning- and I don’t like any embroidery, knitting, quilting etc). Allow at least 3 hours and take a break in the excellent cafe every hour. Absolutely stunning even if ( like me) you knew very little Scottish history. A Fantastic display, and humorous too- LOVED IT. Really, really recommend. Cafe great, in Galashiels itself abundance of Indian / Chinese eateries, two ( or more) pubs selling food and a great Italian restaurant ( which looks closed, but isn’t). Galashiels is a wee but sad but the shops that are there are ok and people are very friendly. Near enough to Melrose for delightful wandering. Great Scottish Tapestry worth visiting alone and in a group- have I mentioned it is Stunning?

Beautiful experience.

Beautiful experience. The cabin was idyllic, very clean and fantastic decor. The view of the farming fields and the animals was a treat to wake up to. The bed was incredibly comfortable as well as the seating in the living room, and the swing seat on the porch was amazing. The kitchen had everything we needed, including the little touches we appreciated, such as the milk, butter, sauces, oil ect. The freshly baked brownies that were left for us were genuinely the most delicious brownies we had ever eaten. The shower was lovely, with great water pressure. Honestly, the entire trip was even better than expected and we will definitely be booking again.

We went to Innerleithen for long circular riding.

We went to Innerleithen for long circular riding. There is a Red XC trail there that was perfect for us before heading off to Glentress. Innerleithen itself has some lovely cafes and a few bars. The people we met were all friendly and the Sapphire restaurant do a lovely Curry. I have never had the amount of a chicken in. Curry ever here in the midlands. The serving bowl was full whereas normally it's all sauce with half a dozen chunks of chicken. They serve alcohol too so the obligatory Cobra was a welcome addition for an evening out after a full day of riding. We were lucky as it was the music festival weekend so we there was live music at some of the pubs making the warm evening even better.
