The breakfast was made to order. one simply fills in a sheet with everything they would like for breakfast and submit it the day before. The breakfasts and dinner were exceptional. I didn't expect dinner service to be available, but I got an email from the hotel asking if I would like to order dinner for the night of my arrival! I was sent the menu and has able to order prior to arrival and had dinner the evening we arrived.

If visiting the Great Scottish Tapestry ( stunning- and I don’t like any embroidery, knitting, quilting etc). Allow at least 3 hours and take a break in the excellent cafe every hour. Absolutely stunning even if ( like me) you knew very little Scottish history. A Fantastic display, and humorous too- LOVED IT. Really, really recommend. Cafe great, in Galashiels itself abundance of Indian / Chinese eateries, two ( or more) pubs selling food and a great Italian restaurant ( which looks closed, but isn’t). Galashiels is a wee but sad but the shops that are there are ok and people are very friendly. Near enough to Melrose for delightful wandering. Great Scottish Tapestry worth visiting alone and in a group- have I mentioned it is Stunning?

Galashiels is the unofficial capital of the Borders and is situated in a central spot to visit all the Border towns and villages and the scenic landmarks including easy access to the coast and Edinburgh. The town itself is also very interesting with a wide range of culture and heritage to explore.

Very central being on the end of the Borders railway at the junction of several major roads. All the facilities you would want are there or down the road at Tweedbank. Short trip by car takes you out into the countryside.

This property had a lovely feel to it the moment you walked through the door.It was well planned and flowed easily making for a relaxing and sociable stay for our large group. details like the large and thoughtful welcome pack, bath robes and extra towels for the hot tub were much appreciated. Our stay was too short to fully enjoy all the potential of this wonderful property.and its surrounding area. A car is essential as you are slightly off the beaten track but it is an excellent spot from which to explore this beautiful area.

Kelvin provided detailed information on how to access the property including photos. Complimentary tea, coffee, milk, orange juice and cereal were provided. The flat is also equiped with a number of gadgets for electronic entertainment. Galashiels is in an excellent location for accessing places in the Scottish Borders. It is also handy for travel to Edinburgh and excellent rail and bus routes are also available. The current last train from Edinburgh is at 23:44 which is excellent if attending a show or social event in the City.
