PERSONAL service is the key to my stay here, in a rather quaint and characterful hotel full of charm. You don't get a bland white box for a room, you get an odd-shaped room with where everything is there but perhaps not how you expect it. The shower took ages to pump hot water through, but once the water was hot, there was one of the longest baths I've ever seen, and the shower over it worked well. I got tea-making facilities. My bed was a bit bouncy, but it didn't stop me sleeping like a log, and waking refreshed. It is likely that every room here is different from the next, and some may not have private facilities, but mine gave me everything I wanted. Breakfast was 'full English' (even in Scotland), and the personal service I mentioned adapted this to my vegetarian requirements, and everything was fresh cooked to order. There is free car parking, but it was tricky for me to find, but I found a little square behind the hotel with parking.

Jedburgh was our third stop walking The St. Cuthbert's Way.

Jedburgh was our third stop walking The St. Cuthbert's Way. We arrived too late to visit the abbey after a long day's walk. We needed to leave promptly the next morning for another long day. A bit more time to explore Jedburgh would have been good but we could not justify a whole day stop. It is easy to get around. We ate at Belter's Bar, which was very good.

The area is packed with history - eg the Abbey, Mary Queen of Scots House - and surrounded by beautiful countryside with excellent walks. I enjoyed a meal at a pub in the centre of town. Everyone is very friendly!

A beautiful town full of character and places to enjoy food...

A beautiful town full of character and places to enjoy food and drink in friendly surroundings. We ate at Bella Italia, (our hosts said it was a great place to eat, and they were right). Great Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. There are many small shops to explore for gifts for others, or indeed one's self...some of the locally made jewellery is truly beautiful. The pubs are welcoming, and full of choice regarding beers, gins and other tipples. Do yourself a favour and visit, you can thank me later.

Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history.

Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history. It is spotlessly clean - the local people were all very friendly. Two must visits are Mary Queen of Scots home and Jedburgh Castle Jail. We are in Belters Bar - the food was beautiful. The Jedburgh Baguette Co was perfect for lunch - so tasty.

A lovely quiet place, with interesting shops and good restaurants. Very well kept with lots of flower arrangements; everyone was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed going round Jedburgh Abbey and Queen Mary's house and garden.

Lots of independent shops, lots of historical sites of significance (Jedburgh Abbey, Jedburgh Jail, Mary Queen of Scots Visitor centre) and good places to eat/ drink. Lots of other things to do and see around the Boarders also.

The location is stellar - walking distance to everything you want/need in Jedburgh. The house is one of the oldest in the area, tastefully updated to top quality standards. The locals call it the "sticking out house" because it is wider than the other houses along the street - gives it character and makes it easier to find. Breakfasts were excellent and the hosts were both super friendly and helpful. Jedburgh is also a great location for day trips to other sites within the Borders area.

This is an amazing place to stay. I drive up to Scotland every year and this is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Very clean and very comfortable and my room was just lovely with space and character. It was perfect for a one night stay but would also be a great place to stay to explore the Scottish Borders . Everyone was very friendly and super helpful. I will definitely be back!

Perfect in every way. Located next door to Queen Mary's House and a short walk to the centre. Very comfortable apartment. Fully equipped and the owners have thought of everything you could need. Loved all the information about Jedburgh and the local area. Thanks for the lovely shortbread too.

Very good location to shops and facillities. Hotel is very clean, with large comfortable beds and exvellent breakfast. The staff are very pleasant, friendly and have good onformation on local events and places of interest. We have stayed here a couple of times, and will definately return.
